This school provides a diverse student body with many opportunities to reach their potential. In a setting which provides wonderful peer relationships as well as caring staff, administration is efficient and caring. Opportunities for parental involvement are present but students travel far and wide to attend this better-than-average special school, which prevents some families from being available to create the school community that (in my opinion) most benefits students. Chatham campus of ECLC is much larger and has what seems (to me) to be a more community-like atmosphere. The Board of Trustees don't have representation from Ho-Ho-Kus or greater Bergen County. Much is provided to students to assure extra-curricular activities are available to all, at no cost if finances are a concern. 'Respite Weekend' is a fantastic opportunity for families to know their student is well looked after, doing something fun with peers, and provides a night off for Mom/Dad/caregiver(s)!
