My daughter just got back from an overnight trip with her 7th grade class to Frost Valley. This was her second year going on the trip (6th graders go as well) and, if possible she had an even more enriching experience this year! The class starts the year off right, working out challenges together and coming together as a community. These overnight trips are one of the highlights of the year for my daughter and always eagerly anticipated!

Our child has attended All Saints for about three years. The school has a stimulating, happy environment, and the teachers and staff are dedicated and involved. Also the classrooms and other rooms are clean, beautiful and filled with all types of age level appropriate material, including examples of the students' work. The music and art programs are outstanding. Our child enjoys going to school in the morning. I agree with the other postings above, and highly recommend All Saints.

Our daughter had her first few day of Nursery school this week and we could not be happier. She is a very talkative 3-year-old, but this evening it was clear she is in a very nurturing school environment. She was eager to share everything about her day with us over the dinner table: the new music, the sand box with shells, who she sat by for painting, how they line up for the playground, and more. We knew it was a good sign when she asked at pickup if "next time" she could "go for longer." To top it off, we just received an email from her teachers with an overview of the week and photos. This level of parent-teacher communication is unparalleled. We cannot wait to watch as our daughter learns and grows at All Saints over the years.

Our daughter had her first day of Kindergarten yesterday and it was amazing. The teachers worked to make her feel confident and she came home babbling about her day and all of the parts of her classroom. After two years in the Nursery and PreK half day program, we cannot wait to continue to watch our daughter flourish academically, socially, and spiritually.

My oldest child has been attending All Saints since Nursery and my other children now attend the school as well. So while my appreciation for the school has continually strengthened over the past 7 years, my eyes were reopened earlier this week when my daughter started middle school. The middle school journey is a new beginning and a banner year in education and I am overwhelmed by how confident and articulate these 5th graders were. I expected some awkwardness and trepidation on their part, but all of the students were excitedly chatting and checking out their new lockers with the poise of seasoned pros. The firm handshakes and eye contact as they met their teachers for each class were equally impressive. When I stopped to contemplate all of this, I realized that All Saints has been preparing these kids since Nursery for this moment. They have fostered confidence and independence and heralded each child's unique contributions to the class in their approach to everything from homework to public speaking to community involvement.

Our daughter is a second grade student and we have been with the school since Nursery. The teachers have all been amazing. They are all willing to provide detailed feedback and the school is open to ideas and suggestions from the parents. The focus on spirituality and community giving is strong, with many opportunities for the students to participate in volunteer events. Dance, music, theater and art teachers are all exemplary with multiple opportunities for students to learn and explore. Academics are a focus, with good enrichment opportunities for students who excel. The older students are visibly warm and caring toward the younger students and the school community is supportive and friendly.

The opportunities at All Saints are endless! We know that the advanced curriculum and focused ratios have helped to mold our Kindergartener into a thoughtful, creative, community member. The teachers are caring and committed and they partner with each child to foster their own unique talents and strengths. We have loved the school so much that when we thought about leaving the area we couldn't leave the school! We will send our daughter here too for Nursery in the Fall as she needs to experience these endless opportunities that our son has been given.

My son entered Ail Saints in the Nursery program, and is currently thriving as a Kindergartener. The school provides a nurturing, yet purposeful, educational environment, in which students develop a true love of learning. The educators truly care about each student as an individual, and there is open communication between teachers and parents. Core academic lessons and hands-on activities -- with an emphasis on critical-thinking skills -- make this school an absolute gem.

What an amazing school! With an equally amazing curriculum. The staff is well trained and the children consistently challenged. There are always new ideas and exciting activities being introduced to both students and parents. These children are excelling and it's a pleasure to watch! If I had to change one thing, it definitely would be there overnight trips without parent chaperones..In 4th grade the children begin to take these trips with staff and parents are not allowed to attend..by 8th grade they leave the country ..I'm sorry but this is too young and way too risky.. other than that this school deserves extra kudos for all the charity work they do..the fact that my kindergartener and 3rd grader know all about and are so excited (and involved) in various charities is beyond impressive..as for what we need..we could definitely use a larger play area.

This is our third year as an All Saints family and I feel extremely fortunate to have found a school that is so wonderful - academically, socially and spiritually. When we were suddenly relocated to NJ from Asia in 2011, I was quite concerned about the school situation in Hoboken. Although I was pleased when my son was accepted to All Saints, I didn't fully know what to expect. Fast forward two years and I now have 2 children attending and absolutely LOVING this school. Both my son and daughter start their mornings *running* into their classrooms, smiling and excited. On numerous occasions, they have told me "Mommy, I LOVE my school," which really is music to my ears. I am thrilled with the school's excellent balance of learning/academics with other important elements such as social responsibility, creativity, social skills and athletics/play time. I simply cannot say enough positive things about the teachers. Every teacher (and assistant) we've had has been smart, dedicated, compassionate, kind, helpful and fantastic with communication! I still get a bit teary and choked up when discussing my son's first teacher (Pre-K) because she was THAT good. All Saints is wonderful.

I have a 5th grader and kindergartener at All Saints. There is a unique sense of community at this school, with families, teachers and the administration working closely together. Every teacher we've had over the years has been exceptionally skilled, dedicated, motivated and caring. Their teachers have worked individually with my children to improve challenge areas, as well as nurture and encourage their talents in subjects where they already excel. The academic program at All Saints is rigorous, and most importantly, helps students connect what they are learning to the world around them. My child has also benefited tremendously from the excellent drama program, which includes a Fall musical and a Spring play. The music and art classes are also top notch. Against this rich academic backdrop, students are also given many opportunities to serve and help their community. I really could not ask for a better educational experience for my children.

My children have been attending All Saints since Nursery and have now been there for 6 years. I don't know where to start! My children absolutely love All Saints, and are eager to go to school every morning. The teaching staff are extremely professional, supportive, enthusiastic and nurturing, and their level of communication with parents is excellent. My children truly love learning, and the supportive environment fosters not only academic excellence but leadership skills, public speaking and students' social conscience. The support staff and adminstration are also top notch and extremely approachable. Any dissatisfaction in any regard is taken seriously and is addressed quickly and professionally - there is no 'bureaucratic red tape' to contend with. There are clear lines of communication from parents to the principal which are actively encouraged. We are very happy to be part of the All Saints Community where the environment is one of dynamic growth and energy, positivity and success!

My daughters have attended All Saints since Nursery School and we have never been anything but highly impressed with the enthusiasm, dedication, warmth and creativity of the staff. The students are challenged academically in ways that are personally engaging and the learning is deep and meaningful. The children have multiple opportunities to learn leadership and public speaking skills. As parents we always feel that we can raise any concerns about our daughters' academic, social or emotional development and that the staff will come together with us to find the "just right" solution for our child. We truly feel very fortunate to have our children at this school.

Our son joined All Saints last year and we were amazed with the strides he made both academically and socially. We had no hesitation in sending our daughter to the Nursery class this year. The teachers are dedicated excellent professionals and the positive and validating spirit of the school create an ideal learning environment. My son is in his second year at All Saints, and is absolutely thriving. We are incredibly impressed by the quality of education he is receiving, which has fostered in him a early love for school and learning that I believe will be the cornerstone of lasting academic success. His creativity and confidence seem to grow tangibly each day, and we think that the staff at All Saints have distinctly influenced both his social and cognitive development.

I have two children currently in Middle School who have attended since grammar school. I have loved every minute there but the real value has come through this past year with my 8th grade son. The support provided in the high school search process, which is increasingly stressful, has been superb. The teachers, the leadership and the entire school community really helped make this process as painless as possible. My children are better for their association to the school.

Our oldest child has attended all saints for 5 years and youngest has attended for 2 years both beginning in nursery school. From the quality of the teachers and staff to the attention every child receives, am not surprised others have consistently given all saints 5 stars. We don t have to make trade-offs between disciplines such as math, reading, science etc and music, art, drama, and dance as the children are taught at a high level in every class. Our principal has elevated the objectives and achievements of the school every year that our children have attended and the results are evident. Lastly, parent involvement is high but not overbearing which creates a great balance in the school community. The parent invovlement high high but not overbearing which creates a great balance in the school community.

My daughter has attended All Saints for the last 2 years. We couldn't be happier with the education, warm environment, amazing teachers and family involvement! My daughter tells me that she misses her teacher and classmates on the weekends and holidays and she can't wait to go to school on Monday. The teachers make the environment that encourages a love of learning.

My children attended All Saints School many years ago, and as I sent my youngest off to college this year I reflected on how well prepared my children were for this transition and how this was in no small part attributable to their experiences at All Saints. My children have gone to high schools and colleges that continue to challenge them academically while reinforcing those values they experienced in elementary school - a strong sense of self, the importance of community and the notion of "giving back." Within weeks of arriving at college, my daughter became a "study buddy" for a young student from an economically depressed neighborhood and my son has taken a leadership position in a campus organization that is currently organizing relief efforts for families displaced by hurricane Sandy. The value of their independent school education has become increasingly apparent to me as they enter adulthood and begin making important choices about the direction of their lives. I am grateful to All Saints for providing this important foundation and glad to know the tradition continues.

My son started at All Saints this fall. The year prior he attended a different school, and was not at all engaged; at best, he was nonplussed by the experience, and at worst, he did not want to go. When he started at All Saints in September, I had some of the same concerns that any parent would have if their child was the "new kid" -- would he make friends? how would he do academically? would he like the new school? I thought these questions would be answered during the course of the year, but I didn't have to wait that long. Already my son has been welcomed into the fold of his new classroom and feels part of the group. More importantly, my son literally runs to school in the morning and insists on attending after care at the end of the day, even though he doesn't have to. As a parent, I could not ask for more: he is happy, well cared for and receiving a top-notch education while starting to develop an awareness of the world and those who inhabit it. I cannot recommend All Saints strongly enough. It has made all the difference in changing my child's attitude towards school, which I feel is crucial in order to develop good study habits and academic success in future years.

I am lucky to have taught at All Saints for the past five years. I love coming to work each day and strive to deliver my best to my students. The community at All Saints is one that is warm, close, and dedicated. Wonderful elationships have been made between teachers, students, and parents throughout the five years I have worked here. Our misssion statement is one that strives for academic, social, and independent growth and excellence. We teach our students to hold a passion and love for others and our earth. I am so happy to be apart of this dedicated and loving community.

I have been a teacher at All Saints since 2001. I also served on our board and on the committee for our initial accreditation through NJAIS. This experience allowed me to understand just how special independent education is: the influence of our mission statement, the integrity of accredited institutions, and the power of partnership when parents, administrators, teachers, and students all work together for our children. In 2007, our community asked for a middle school. Through hard work, careful planning, and continuous reflection, we have answered that call and now serve grades 5-8 with an exemplary academic, social, and experiential program. I could not be more proud to have been a part of this growth. I now have two young children attending our school. I have the utmost respect for every teacher in our school and know that at every grade level, my children will be taught by people who love the work they do, love their school, and stand by our guiding mission statement. I know that many exciting trips, projects, partnerships, events, and learning opportunities await my son and daughter at every grade level, and I am so grateful to be able to give this gift to them.

We have truly loved this school from the start when our child began nursery school 2 years ago. Now that they are in kindergarten, we can really see how exceptional the curriculum, teachers and staff are to a committed aproach to learning and community. Recently, I attended a symposium created by the Middle School and was utterly blown away by the poise, grace and public speaking abilities of the students presenting. We are looking forward to our child enjoying her elementary education at All Saints.

All Saints is such an amazing school. The teachers are so incredible. And the curriculum is top notch - my mom (a second grade teacher for 30 plus years) cannot believe how many things my own second grader is already doing! Finally, we love the way that appreciation for community and a sense of greater purpose seems entwined in the day-to-day for ADSD students, even in Nursery.

The first year our son attended All Saints, I thought it was a great school. The second year, I got a little more involved with the school, and I thought it was a great school with the best pre-k teacher in the whole world. By the third year I was curious about just how All Saints manages to be so special, and spent some time with the Head of School and their Team and I was truly impressed by the care that they, and all of the teachers, take with respect to every aspect of the school, from choosing students, to their plan for measured growth, to the curriculum choices, to encouraging each child individually in a way that touches and inspires that child. All Saints will teach your child how to love learning and achieve every bit of their potential. Even better, at All Saints it's cool to be nice, and to make the world a little bit better. Check out our website - www.allsaintsdayschool.org - and take a tour. You'll be impressed by our school and by our kids.

We love the opportunities that All Saints provides for the families to come together as a community whether at holiday concerts or back-to-school BBQs -- and we value how the school fosters such a warm environment for the students and families in and outside of the classroom. The "specials" teachers really set All Saints apart; the arts and music teachers have outstanding credentials. The music teacher s background in Kodaly training puts him at the top of the field, and his high expectations and calm demeanor make him a wonderful role model for my son. The dance teacher s classroom management skills are some of the finest I've seen; she uses the movement techniques that the children are learning as tools to learn how to control their bodies in space; dance, in particular, can lead to wild, wriggly children, but she achieves the opposite. We've also had the good fortune to work with the drama enrichment teacher, who seems to have an intuitive sense of what's appropriate for this age group in terms of role playing and free expression. From these classes, our son has grown from a shy incoming student into a joyful, confident boy.

This school holds high standards for itself in terms of the staff it employs, the curriculum it follows and the energy and enthusiasm with which it approaches each day. Accordingly the children are encouraged to reach within themselves to bring out their best for themselves, their peers and their community. Children are expected to learn self-discipline in the classroom and outside of it and to be inquisitive about the world around them. The students in the upper grades (my children are still in the lower school) are articulate and well mannered. I'm very proud to have my children educated here and to be part of the All Saints community.

My oldest daughter has been at All Saints for 9 years and will be entering the 7th Grade in September. My other children are following in her footsteps, so I have some experience with the school. This school lives its mission. It places importance on all aspects of a child, academics, social responsibility, and community. They want to nurture well rounded children who have confidence to achieve their very best. Now that my daughter is in middle school, I see how important her school community plays in her growth and self confidence through what are typically awkward years. It is a wonderful school that is preparing my children well. Excellent!

We have been an All Saints family since the fall of 2004. Our daughters will be entering 5th grade and Kindergarten in September. Both girls, and particularly our 5th grader, have remarkably grown from the inside out at All Saints. The very essense of a child's being is nutured and cultivated at this school in a way that transcends today's academic dialogue. This, along with rigorous academics, individualized attention and community service make All Saints an outstanding school.

We moved to Hoboken, NJ from NYC, where our children had been attending an excellent school for years. Needless to say, we were VERY nervous about the transition to a new school. Our children entered All Saints as 2nd and 4th graders last fall (2009). We are now at the end of our first full school year and we could not be more pleased with our experience. The teachers at All Saints are exceptional. They have the very best training and are masterful at getting the very best out of our children without "pushing" them too hard. The access that we have to the teachers is unbelievable. I email with each of them a couple times a week so I feel like I always know how my children are doing. The facilities look and feel traditional but are packed with the latest technology including smart boards in each classroom. Highly recommend!

My children came to this school after attending the local public school. The two environments cannot be compared. All Saints is staffed with enthusiastic, caring and experienced teachers. My children are excited to go to school every day. The academics are strong and there is also an emphasis on being part of a community and the responsibilities that go with that. I am very excited (and relieved) that the school is expanding to the 8th grade so that my children can continue to learn in such a wonderful environment (nursery and pre-k will move to new space for fall 2009!).

My daughter was lucky enough to move to this school from a public school. She was challenged to work up to her full potential for the first time. She loves going to school and begs to go even if she is sick. She is applauded for her accomplishments and helped with her challenges. The faculty and administration is organized and caring. As a parent, I have done class projects with all grades and have been shocked at how uniformly responsive and sweet the kids are. There is also very usable aftercare and interesting extracurricular activities. My daughter is currently taking a film making class! The principal and vice principal are always available and accommodating. Her teachers are just an email away. If you want an academically rigorous program in a caring and supportive environment, this is it.

The other reviews are very old. They predate the arrival of a new head of school and new faculty members. My daughter currently attends All Saints and it has an extremely organized and efficient staff. Furthermore, the focus on early literacy and balanced instruction in all subjects have led her to remarkable progress this school year. The emphasis on citizenship and multiculturalism are important to our family. Only about 15 percent of the children attending the school also belong to the parish. The rest, including my child, are of other faiths and diverse backgrounds. Because it is a private school, parent involvement is necessary. We could always have more parents involved. Also, because of the physical facilities, sports and phys ed are limited. However, the school is currently working on a plan to expand into new space, which will help with many aspects of its mission.

This is a small elementary school hosting a diverse community of students. Academic instruction is structured while allowing students plenty of room for self-pacing and acceleration. The school is also good in music and art instruction. Strong parent involvement, diversity of student body in a small academically-strong environment make this an excellent school for laying a solid foundation for learning.

Not a very friendly atmosphere. When I went to inquire, the receptionist made me feel that she was so busy and I had to wait for sometime to get one page of info. They hire kids to watch your kids during the summer camp. Thanks to Ms. Evelyn, Cora and Ashlee. But this is it. This school is a one-two star. Now she's at Mustard Seed School and there's no better place than this school.

The classroom environment is friendly, charming and generally supportive of the students. Facilities are adequate but in need of upgrade. Wide variety of extracurricular activities, for a small participation fee. The school's weaknesses are its organization, communication and leadership. During the first week of school each year, parents dropping off children are given the impression that things are barely holding together; teachers and administrators are running around trying to figure things out and provide no guidance to parents or students with questions. Communication about school events and policies is somewhat haphazard: there are school newsletters but they are not always accurate or up to date. 'Bad news' is squelched and either not shared at all or shared as late as possible (e.g., summer camp cancelled, sixth grade dropped). Financial stability of the school is very questionable, but again there's little information shared with parents. Overall impression is inadequate administrative leadership.

My son attended All Saints for two years. He is a special needs student and the small class size and special assistance in language arts (lots of public speaking and Orton-Gillingham approach to reading) really put him back on track. I appreciate the school's emphasis on inter-personal relations. Although it is run by the Episcopal church, there are children of just about every faith and color in attendance. A well integrated school with a before and after care program.
