My child attended Regional Day @ Jackson for 12 years. I cried the day she graduated because we were losing the support of a exemplary group of highly professional teachers and support staff, in a warm, safe and loving environment. I can not say enough about our experience there. My daughter receieved O.T, P.T., Speech and related services. Her progress was closely monitored and recorded, and the communication between myself and the program was outstanding at all times. She was always closely monitored, and engaged in stimulating activities, and always returned home clean, groomed, happy, and well cared for. Regional Day is a role model for other programs, but unfortunately programs of this caliber are few and far between. My wish is that they will some day expand their program to include adults. I can't say enough about the quality of this program, and would highly recommend it to any parent with a disabled child. (We love and miss you, Ms. Nancy!)

Regional Day is beyond amazing. My daughter attended this school from age 7 thru 21. I literally cried when she graduated. The staff are the most amazing group of people I have ever met in this field. Completely dedicated, kind, loving, they work together has a cohesive team of professionals that want to bring out the very best in your child. They became an extension of my own family! Leaving RDS was very emotional, and there is NO program comparable to theirs out there. And funding that has gone into this program has been very well appropriated by the administration, because our children get the very best there is to offer. They should be the model for ALL NJ programs for the disabled. It CAN be done, and done WELL, when the right people are at the helm. I am currently looking for a program that is close in nature to RDS, and I can tell you they are extremely rare. My hope is, they will some day be able to extend this program to include adults beyond the age of 21, because there is precious little out there of any value for our loved ones beyond that age.

This is the absolute best school for my son. I only wish he started there 7 years ago. He has learned more in the one year at this school, than the wasted 7 years in his district's school. I only wish there was no vacation time because he misses school so much that he's terrible at home.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
