Being a parent of an honor school, this is the worst school by far in the district. The principal is not involved with the students whatsoever. They appear to condone and cover up bullying. They treat parents like outsiders and do not want them to participate. This is a failing district and people need to be made aware of this fact.
Teachers don't follow IEP's. The principal seems sheltered, she never returns calls, always has staff call in her place and she is never visable in school. Not parent friendly almost seems they don't want you to participate and help your child succeed. If your child is not great student then you really need to stay involved and on top to make sure guidelines are followed. Just because you are preparing them for middle school does not mean you stop caring. For some of the highest paid teachers they seem like they just want to collect and not produce. Very dissppointed.
My children have been happy in this school, caring Teachers and a strong academic program. I just wish they offered Honor Roll...
awesome its the bestschool in nj especially better than those Berkely schools i mean seriously think
5&6th grade have been an awesome experience for my child at Mill Pond. The teacher quality is exceptional and I see the results in report cards and testing. I will miss Lacey Elementary schools Lanoka Harbor & Mill Pond and hope Middle School is as great of an experience.
My child is in 5th grade. HIS TEACHER TOLD HIM TO "ZIP IT!" WHEN HE WAS TALKING TO HER DURING RECESS!! And we he shared a nightmare w/teacher, teacher said "LIKE I CARE?". Teacher said they were sorry....but REALLY?? Yes, this really happened! IF U DON'T LIKE YOUR JOB...perhaps it's time to move on?? I know I'm not the only parent who's had this experience with HER. Glad the year's almost over.
This school deserves higher than a 6!
