I LOVE LACEY TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL! I think Lacey is one of the BEST schools in the country! Awesome teachers and a beautiful building!

There's a REASON this high school is rated ONLY A 6!!!!! I'VE HAD 2 kids go through this school. The first had no academic troubles, didn't need extra help. BUT, the other HAS a 504 plan, needs extra help, but DOES NOT GET THE HELP! There is almost NO COMMUNICATION from the teachers to the parents, even when my child was in danger of failing a class! TEACHER'S DON'T FOLLOW THE 504 plan! They admit to getting frustrated & my child's self-esteem is down the drain. :(

While their are many quality teachers at Lacey H.S., the majority of them are unprofessional, incompetent, and unwilling (or unable) to provide a quality education. The teachers, administration, and environment of the K-8 schools in Lacey are outstanding. I'm not sure what happened in the high school, but teachers seem to want to hinder students rather than help. Many of the coaches also are just there to supplement their income since it's one of the lowest paid districts in the county.

I have lived here in lacey for just over twelve years. Comparabley speaking, as i have relatives in ca,texas,pa and north jersey. Lacey does very well. We do now have a principal. The construction is finished. Parent participation is lacking here. It seems as soon as students hit middle school, parents take a hands off approach. Our music department is wonderful to say the least. We have expanded our theatre department to include academic acting classes. It is all what you make it. I have put one student through and am in the process of graduating #2. The above mentioned e mails sound very bitter. Lacey is beautiful and our high school is light, open, bright and the new principal is making excellent and much needed changes. Especially in the area of discipline. If your child is not a trouble maker, you will appreciate the atmosphere.

Lacey offers a wide variety of programs to meet each student's needs, and is like every other school in that, 'you only get out what you put in!' Most teachers care and work hard to help students reach their potential. Many parents have NO CLUE what this even is and are fast to point fingers for what they fail to do as parents. As a parent and a teacher (elementary) YOU must be your child's best advocate in any school! Lacey isn't perfect, but tries hard!

I believe this school has some of the best teachers in the county and maybe even state. Some of the bad things about this school are that it still doesnt have a principal and the building is in need of some major renovations.

Horrible! My first child said if she didn't get most of her education from another school system besides Lacey, she would have never made it through college. My other child slept through this school. Most of the teachers are just there to collect a pay check. The teachers dress very poorly. If they don't care about the way they dress then why should the students? My child was very big into sports and an excellent athlete only to be let down by coaches. She could have received two gold letters but was treated so poorly by the coaches she quit. Students are treated poorly by teachers. I have put three children through this school system. If I had known about this seven years ago, I would have never moved here.

Schools are for the most part Excellent. Principle leadership in HS is weak. Discipline could be turned up a notch or two. As for safety, I live 3 blocks away for the last 10 years and have never had a problem. Athletic morale could be improved.
