From my personal experiences in this school, all I can say is that they really enforce character as one of their top curriculum focuses! Probably the best school i've ever been in (I'm in LHS at the moment) since I started my learning career

Eldridge Park is a great elementary school. The entire staff is dedicated to teaching the children, not only the curriculum, but about character. To this day, my son has never asked to stay home. He loves going to school. He loves his teachers. The PTO at this school is phenominal. They are very dedicated to our school and continue to instill these values for the next generation as well. They run several fundraisers a year, which assist with the cost of school activities and supplies. Besides the selling of products, they work with local restuarants to have family dinner nights where a percentage of your meal cost is donated to the school, they run a parent's night out tricky tray/silent auction. The Movie Night at the school was fun. They have an ice cream social and several other activities, which are affordable and fun, but also support the PTO and their goals. They help the less fortunate families of our school, so that all children have the same opportunities for health, happiness, and success. I am very pleased with all aspects of this school and the positive effects it has on my child.

Excellent teachers throughout. Have one child in this school right now, and another that has moved onto the Intermediate School. EPS is a wonderful place for a child's first school experience.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 New Jersey used the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJ ASK) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in language arts literacy and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in science. The NJ ASK is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New Jersey. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
