Acorn has excellent, caring teachers, challenging academics, and enriching extracurricular programs. My son's interest in learning and pride in his accomplishments has given him greater confidence and enthusiasm, and the teachers and staff have facilitated that for him.

My children have attended Acorn Montessori School for seven years, starting in Toddler through Upper Elementary. The Montessori education they have received has given them a love of learning that is unmeasurable. All my children are academically advanced, but more importantly they are learning the skills that will let them succeed in life. Time management, problem solving, debate, world view, grace, charity and so much more that will not only make them great students but great people. I love this school, the staff and all it has offered my children and my family.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the teachers! But not thrilled with the Head of School. My child is doing wonderfully in the Toddler program, and for that, I could not have higher praise for the school. But the administration and the board leave a lot to be desired.

Acorn is an incredible schoool. My son has been there for 3 yrs and has learned so much during this time. He was reading even before he started KG. Now, he is addicted to independent reading. Just yesterday he explained to me the difference between segregation and slavery. If someone told me a 5 yr old has this level of knowledge, I wouldn't believe it, but it is true. I absolutely love Acorn.

We have been at Acorn for a year; our son started in the Toddler House when he was just shy of 2 years old. When I walked onto the campus, I felt that this was the place I would have wished to go to school ... and the Toddler House made him immediately feel at home. The teachers were amazing; the depth of their commitment and their patience were so apparent. I felt listened to and respected, and knew that they would do the same for my son. I've since met other children who have grown up at Acorn, and have been impressed with their maturity, thoughtfulness, creativity, and sensitivity to the world. My son is looking forward to 'moving up' to the next class in September!

We enrolled our son in the Toddler full day program at Acorn when he was 18 months old. It was so important that we find a place that would care for him the way that we would. When we visited the school, we saw a true-to-life classroom with child sized everything, from a working kitchen area, to the napping room (nitestands and all). Not to mention the 'outdoor classroom' where the children have room to run and safe/age appropriate equipment. The campus is beautiful with animals, gardens and everything that we wanted him to be surrounded with. We were not familiar with the Montessori philosophy, but quickly learned that it involved embracing each child strengths, interests and natural curiosity to foster learning. This has been an excellent approach and our son has flourished at Acorn. We are now the proud parents of an intelligent, happy, loving and respectful little boy! Thanks Acorn!

I have been at Acorn for almost four years and I could not be happier. My one child is in the Red Oak classroom and I think the teachers are phenomenal. He is learning so much that it amazes me every day. The teachers are instilling in him a true love of learning and independence that he can use the rest of his life. The teachers in the Toddler classrooms are also fabulous!

The school advertises itself as a true montessori school however fails to meet the individualized needs of the students. The teachers pretty were just baby sitting the students in the Red Oak classroom instead of assiting students to new and interesting learning. Safety in the after school program is problematic there are teenagers not Teachers taking care of the children. Accidents have occured in which students have been injured and no changes were made. Way over rated and over priced.

I am a teacher at the Acorn Montessori school and I think that by far this is the best school that a parent can put their child in. It is a totally different out look on life. It is all about respect, and it is a loving and caring place. Even though there is not a lot of students in each class each and every child is very mature, and well educated. All of them have the oppertunity to keep their identity and be themselves. I have been involved with both public and Montessori schooling and there is a huge difference. The largest difference is that Acorn children are a lot more mature. The children also really care about learning. It is something that is really important, and fun to them. The teachers, and staff are incredible. They all know how to teach children in a different way. They are great!
