Lebanon Borough Elementary School

Progress, progress, progress! The school has definitely been on the right track since the removal of the superintendent. The whole atmosphere is better and our children are reaping the benefits. Smart boards in every room...IPADS for every first grader because of a teacher initiated grant. more to come....with excited teachers. Have heard from many the transition to Clinton twshp. is as expected...our children do fine. They may just be "children" a little longer compared to others because of our small nurturing environment, ensuring the success for all I see nothing wrong with that. It takes a village and we definitely have that here in this great town. Of course with a few exceptions, but no where is perfect. We are as good as what we surround ourselves with...that is what we need to teach our kids. We are very SATISFIED parents.

I certainly can and DO imagine having my children in another school, one with higher test scores & stats. As the kids move into Clinton Township schools, whether through the School Choice program or by graduating into a higher grade, the situation dramatically improves, as in improving test scores, higher levels of professionalism, a friendlier environment. We are paying high taxes for this service, comparable to other school districts. The test scores should reflect that. Our kids should be doing much better. So the grass is DEFINITELY greener...

The superintendent that caused grades to slip is gone. I am happy with my two children's progress and have noticed a positive change in culture. The grass is always greener... I could not imagine having my kids in another school

This school continues to impress. Our chld is in the 1st grade and his teacher is wonderful. The staff knows everyone by name, or so it seems. The kids line up by class before first bell, giving parents an opportunity to chat and set up play dates. This is a great school in a great town.

I completely agree with the post dated May 8 in regards to girlish culture. Lebanon Borough is a very small & tight community. Children are recognized moreso by the contribution of their parents or lack therof. Just about everyday there is a classroom party, teacher, janitors recognition celebration, something to donate your time and/or financial contribution. Academically my child is learning a great deal, personal attention is afforded all the students because the classes are small (maybe 12 students in the larger classes) with a teacher and aide. Teachers are available to discuss the childrens progress in detail.

Primary focus on building up girls. Being a boy with solid marks means little here. Tough for the boys, but putting up with that the bias will make them better citizens. Also official accolades, awards, honors almost always go to the children whose parents are members of the school board or who have the time to volunteer. That I feel is completely unfair. One would expect better for the tax dollars spent. Teaching for the most part is very good. Three of the teachers are excellent!

The classes are much smaller than that. It's a K-6 school. Largest class has 15, smallest has 6-7.
