Although there are some teachers of high quality, there are plenty of duds..Smsrt kids spend many years waiting for others to learn to read..By then, they are bored out of their minds..School caters to parents who are in the "in crowd".

I graduated from Riker Hill and must say I was very sad to leave. I d been to Riker Hill just for fourth and fifth grade, but I already loved it during those two years. For a student coming from an underprivileged school that nearly wrecked my education, Riker Hill revamped my intelligence. Immediately I fell into the arms of a loving community. I miss it there.

teachers are very supportive, eventhough my kids are new to the school, they identify the special needs and talents of the children.

Teachers are very helpful and kind to kids; responsive to parents' questions. Parent volunteering is ample, but those from minority parents are disproportionally lacking. Academics performance has been slipping in recent years, compared to its peers in the same school district. A little more emphasis on math and language arts would be better.

The teachers are excellent. We get constant feedback from them. Our daughter is in first grade and has already learned addition and subtraction, and is reading at a much higher level than I expected at the start of the year.

My daugter started third grade. I am somewhat disappointed as many kids still don't know addition/subtraction facts to 20. Will they be spending time learning that while my daugter is completely bored, or will they go forward and let those kids stay behind?

Each child is encouraged to do their personal best without being labeled as the smart or dumb kids. The teachers are highly skilled and work hard to bring out the best in each child. The principal is kind and knows each child by name.
