NE is the best school I attended -- not excluding an Ivy League University and Ivy Law School. The faculty is amazing. The facilities make NA more of a small college than a high school. Oneclook at NA's breathtaking Livingston campus tells the story. It's tough to get in -- but once you're there, you're in a close-knit community of brilliant students, exceptional teachers and coaches, and administrators who care.

Newark academy has an impressive math program for good math students. Good math students will do the following math sequence, 6th grade-- algebra 1 7th grade -- geometry 8th grade -- pre-calc/algebra 2 9th grade -- calc AB/BC 10th grade -- differential calculus 11th grade -- multivariate calculus Every early one or two 6th grade student will begin the above math sequence

I entered Newark Academy as a sixth grader and I can proudly say, it was the best decision of my life. NA has molded me into a well rounded person and fostered my needs and wants. Newark Academy encourages students to work hard, but most importantly, it encourages students to positively contribute to the community, both academic, athletic, and community service wise. I am a typical Newark Academy student. What does that entail? I have all A's and A-'s. I'm in all honors courses and am taking AB/BC calculus and ap french as a SOPHOMORE. I actively participate in 17 clubs, 2 of which I am on the executive board. I am on the student council and I logged over 50 hours of community service this year. I am going to be interning at a hedge fund this summer as well as traveling to Senegal to fulfill my immersion requirement. There I will spend 3 weeks building schools, speaking french, and learning to assimilate with the Senegalese culture. Newark Academy isn't obsessive about going to good schools, creating intelligent scholars, etc. The students at Newark Academy naturally fill in these rolls and become great well rounded people. 30% of the senior class of 2011 are going Ivy League.

Would someone please comment on Newark Academy vs, Montcalir Kimberley for a Montclair area family? My middle schooler is extremely strong in math, but MKA's curriculum seems comparable to NA's in those subjects. I'd prefer to keep him closer to home for a fuller social life, with more kids from closer to school, if the difference is truly negilible. What are the facts that support NA's stronger academic reputation, and does the disparity decrease at the HS level? (Please ignore the stars ... I had to fill in this section!)

I entered NA as a new ninth grader and I thought I wouldn't be able to survive in such a prestigious private high school. I was so wrong. The students and faculty made the transition into NA easy and now I absolutely love it here. Everything about this school makes me want to work harder in class, in sports, in finding myself. Students are pushed to try everything before making a decision. The school opens us to worlds beyond our own bubbles. I couldn't ask for a better learning environment with all the right people involved. Thank you to everyone who has shaped my life in ways I cannot put into words.

I can't imagine any of my 3 children having a better High School experience than NA. It's a place where kids are encouraged to find out who they are rather than attempt to become like everyone else.

NA isn't that great of a school. You will end up wasting money because the teachers are uncooperative and the school lacks education. It is a year behind a regular public school.

Superb in every way. Excellent balance between academics and athletics.
