I graduated from Southern and I felt it was an excellent school. I have 5 children and my last one will graduate 2010. My children did well and all are productive adults.

I am a parent of two former students of SRHS and one currently attending. I am also a teacher of a nearby school. I have been impressed with the middle and high school since my students began attending the schools, with the teachers, with the curriculum and with the extra-curricula activities. SRHS has much to offer in all aspects of its education and sports. Most teachers are experienced and for thsoe who are not, there is a wealth of knowledge to exploit.

I am a former student and did well in my classes, with teachers who cared and really made learning exciting. However, I am a bright person and love learning, and my teachers let me slide by in easy general and advanced classes, rather than pushing me to excel in and be challenged by honors classes. I believe that the honors classes should be pushed for all, as I would have done well and perhaps changed my college decision.

I am a former student 4 years out, still in college and this school prepared me for college more than a lot of my fellow students high schools did. The advanced program I took part in at SRHS could not have helped me more and I am forever grateful to have been able to attend there. There is so much to do in extra curriculars. I never had a problem getting help from my teachers, as a student you just have to ask, have to stay after school. People who say that the teachers aren't helping should really ask their children if they're even trying to get help. I too hope to one day go back and teach at Southern Regional.

I currently have two children attending SRHS. They are very opposite in their needs and I feel fortunate to have them attend this school. if you are willing to be involved with the education of your children, this school is the place to be. If you get involved, communicate with the teachers you will find it a wonderful experience. The school has a proud tradition of excellence in sports, band and academics. The advanced program is excellent. The staff also seem to care about family values. The guidance staff has been awesome. The teachers are always available after classes to help your child.

I'm unhappy with the school this year-my youngest is a 7th grader who has been struggling with his classes all year. His group of teachers seem to have a 'sink or swim' attitude and no one has contacted us, including his guidance counselor, with any concerns. My child is in tears with worry about not passing for the year.

I'm an ex-student 5 years out, just finished college. This school will not prepare your teen for college-level academics mathematics. The English program is average at best. Furthermore, the atmosphere is one of hate. The only saving grace for the school is the facilities which I would rate as above average, though not the best I ve seen.

I went to Southern and am now a Junior in college. Southern can be daunting because of its size but there are many advantages over other schools from smaller districts. For instance, they offer 5 different languages (including Japanese) and a wide variety of extracurricular activities (like the fantastic theatre company). Most of the teachers are excellent and even the least favorite ones can teach effectively. When I graduated, I had several inspiring teachers, and they encouraged me to pursue college in the first place. I felt that many of them genuinely cared about my well being there.

This school is by far the best school I've been to. The teachers are fun and teach well. We have a lot to be proud of at Southern and I'm proud to say I plan to come back and teach.
