My daughter went to school for two years from prek to kindergarden and my sisters three kids went from pre k to 2nd grade. This is the honest truth: Yes, they will learn about being jewish and singing hebrew songs. But they will not learn to read or write or math and will be behnd academically when they will enter public school. This school academically is so bad that it doesnt even matter what it does do for jewish heritage. What a wasteof money. Teacher in Marlboro Elementary told that ALL kids from Solomon Schechter are behind in reading, writing, math.

This school needs to retire most of the teachers who refuse to change their curriculum. Waste of money, waste of education and not up to public school standards.

I was so surprised to read the previous rant about Solomon Schechter in Marlbor. Clearly that parent haad issues with the dresss code! The school is a superior educational institution and as a bonus it is warm and friendly. My husband and I agree with th e first parent who said that the school is agift - it is for our children! P.S. The administrators (the women) running the school are great and since they are both retiring, they willbe missed very much!!

I have been a parent in the school for over 10 years and I can say with strong conviction that the administration at SSDS is made up of intelligent, informed, caring professionals who are deeply committed to the children, staff, faculty and to Jewish education. This school has given my children the finest secular and Jewish education in this area and has prepared them well for the rigors of high school.

Solomon Schecter Day School is far from the amazing school the previous post claims it to be. The School is run by women who want it to be a dictatorship. It has turned out to be a nightmare for myself and my children. They are only interested in how they ' look' . I can tell you that as a parent you will be doing your child more harm than good by putting him/ her in this setting.

SSDS is an amazing secular and egalitarian Jewish educational resource in Monmouth County! The teachers and administration are committed and caring individuals! I know my children will be so well prepared for life because of the solid education and moral compass they learn at school. Sending your child to SSDS is the greatest gift you can give!
