OLS school is an outstanding place that offers a well-rounded and rigorous education. My children fly into the building each day. They love their time there. The atmosphere is family-like with a caring atmosphere. The teachers are involved and supportive. The entire school offers a student group that interact and care about each other. The principal is responsive and well involved in the education of every child. We are so happy to have made the decision to enroll our children at OLS.
My daughter started here this fall and i couldn't be happier. The principal is great and will listen and the children like him alot. I really like that all the teachers are enthusiastic and you can feel the caring in the school. It has gone better then i had hoped.
Hello, I was thinking of enrolling my daughter in the grade school. I don't see any recent reviews - would love to hear from anyone who has children in this school. I didn't grow up in this area so would love some feedback! thx
OLS is a fantastic school! I have had children in the school since 1995. There have been a number of of very good changes in the school over the past 14 years. The teachers are top notch with very impressive credentials. I have never had a problem with a teacher or the principle. They listen to your concerns and act in the best interest of the child and family. I am very pleased with the education my children receive from the acamedic, religious and moral aspects. The school is well worth the money!
My children have been attending OLS for 3 years. While Mrs. Bascik was the Principal, everything ran much smoother. Parents, teachers, and students all respected her and loved her. The new Principal does not seem to have earned anyone's respect. Teacher morale is down, & students don't seem to have a very good repoire with her. I know from personal experience that she is very difficult to deal with. She has a tendancy to not listen to what you are trying to say, has no respect for your opinion, and often times will actually argue a point to death, versus taking the time to 'really' listen to what a parent is trying to say. Close-minded is the term I'm looking for here. Most teachers are excellent. Some need to be considering retirement as they seem to not enjoy their jobs (or our children) much anymore. Considering public school for next year.
OLS is an awesome school. All of the teachers are NJ Certified and have years of experience teaching. These teachers raise the academic bar in the classrooms. Our children are definitely prepared for high school. The technology program is incredible since the new teacher took over and revitalized the course integrating technology into the curriculum. This is an A+ school.
OLS is a good school but there is room for improvement - air conditioning - playground equipment - and more parent involvement in activities and volunteering - the teachers are good - but again some room for improvement -I believe the principal is trying very hard to move OLS along in improving programing, equipment and services - it will take time but for right now the school is a better alternative to public education. Also 3 grades are currently suffering over crowding situations which will hopefully change next achool year.
OLS is a wonderful school. My children, one of which is in middle school and the other in a lower grade get straight As. The teachers are always willing to help out the kids if they are struggling with a subject or just needs some guidance. There is a family atmosphere in the in school and parents are very active in all activities and the PTA. The new computer teacher is much more qualified then the previous teacher. She combines class assignments with projects going on in the academic class. The new gym teacher is excellent and holds a master's degree. She teaches health as well physical activities. She is a certified referee for several sports and is consistently looking for ways to help the kids to keep moving and improve themselves. I would recommend this school to any family. The school teaches academics as well as religious values. The childrent
We've have 2 kids in OLS for the past 6 years and they are respectful, smart and good thinkers. They get excellent coaching from their teachers and a decent amount of independent work. They look forward to going to school and getting the good grade. The Math and Science instructions are ahead of the curve, largely due to the teachers on staff. The school offers several 'specials' and has excellent Music and Art programs/instructors. The library is kept up to date and there are many sports activities for the kids to join. As parents we love the safe learning atmosphere it provides.
With the change in administration this past September and other faculty changes, things just aren't the same. The homey, family atmosphere is gone and the principal doesn't really seem to have a clue how to handle any serious discipline problems. The middle school isn't doing a lot besides typing in technology since the new teacher took over this past fall.whatever happened to research and office applications? The new Gym teacher is great but it definitely isn't as great as it was when my children first started 3 years ago. The money seemed worth it last year and the year before with Donna Bacsik as principal, but not now. For all that money couldn't they at least hire someone with some experience?
OLS is a great school! We have the best principal and an excellent teaching staff. I couldn't be happier!
OLS is an excellent school. Our principal is superb and we have wonderful teachers. The children who attend OLS love it and have fun at learning. My childen learn more than academics, they learn to be respectful and caring. They also learn very good study habits, writing and grammer skills. They have a very good advance math program and the kids love the science lab and weather cameras. The children that graduate from OLS do very well in highschool and they come from many different towns like Robbinsville,Hamilton Sq., Mercerville, Allentown, East and West Windsor. I live in a vey good school disctrict but I want my children to graduate from OLS. I personally feel that they only have once chance at school so give them the best.
Good principle , but not many qualified teachers. most of the teachers are to 'chummy' with some of the parents. this school has to stop letting some of the teacher babysit parent's children and then teach them. great school spirit at this schoool. for the money you pay this school is NOT WORTH IT.
I love this school. It has been great for my daughter. She has learned great values and been taught reading and math in Kindergarten. A new principal is coming in the 2004, and I think it will only better the school. I hope enrollment continues to grow.
OLS is a great school. I am most impressed by the quality and dedication of our teachers. They are committed not only to the student's academic achievement but their social and spiritual development as well. The academic program is fantastic and we also have music, art, gym and computer classes. There is also an advanced math program as well as resource and supplemental instruction. We have something for every child!
Our Lady of Sorrows provides a wonderful environment for learning. My child is receiving a high quality education from educators who are not only highly competent but caring. I would recommend this school community to all!
Overall, very happy with the school. I feel parent involvement needs to be addressed. We need to get tuition down and we need parent volunteers to ensure that.
