Although my children have made some good friends, as I have, this is not criteria for a good school. My childrens teachers have been good, but the classes have been sporatically combined, making for an inconsistant learning experience. The building is so delapidated that there are multiple leaks in the gym roof, sinks falling off the walls, and very dated electrical and fire alarm systems. There is no public address system and the building is in need of new security doors and locks. Safety is a real concern at this school. The principal is new to her position yet has been employed at the school for 15 years. She should be more aware of the practices of an elementary school. The special education and gifted and talented programs are in need of much further improvement to benefit the students.

School is in dire need of repairs. Be aware this school combines grades, if your child has the slight bit of a learning delay, he or she will not get the appropriate one on one as with a regular non combined class. Think about this, if the teacher devotes extra time for the student with a slight delay,the rest of the class will lose even more learning time. It makes me sick that this school has such a poor budget being that it is located in one of the 5 riches counties in the country.

I couldn't be happier about sending my children to the Milford Public School. Our school is a small K-8 school with small class sizes. The school environment is comparable to an extended family because all of the teachers & staff know each children by name. There are no school buses, so the teachers know each of their children's parents/guardians. The school is very safe and I do not worry about my child's safety during the school day. The curriculum is good and well rounded (besides the basics, all of the chidren also have Spanish, Computers, Music and Art). The Milford Public School is one of the best kept secrets in Hunterdon County, NJ.
