Joyce Kilmer is just average. There is no push for academic excellence. Teachers dress like average joes on the street, no professional dress - even jeans and flip-flop/sandals are allowed. That is distracting and disconcerting to students - seeing your teachers toes? This contributes to the students lack of respect for themselves, fellow students, and teachers. Let's raise the bar in the dress code! The school year essentially ends with the NJ Ask testing in early May. No homework, open book tests, Disney movies. Eighth grade is the worst. Too much time spent on Banquet, getting dates for the banquet, Camp Mason trip.
My son & daughter graduated from there, Exellent schools in milltown N.J. E. Brunswick schools aren't so good...I wish I went to them
I am a student at JK. It is the best school I have ever even set foot in the door. the principle, Dr. Madison, who is now the super is awsome. always having fun is her favorite thing. the new principle is wonderful too. i love the teachers. they are all so helpful and caring. there is an absoulte 0 tolerance policy on bullying. and anything that happens in that school dr. madison does her best to figure out. she is always fair as are the rest of the teachers. there are a few teachers that are a little impatiant but are still there if you need to talk. most of them are wonderful, caring, and loving.
