I am an educator with a keen eye to excellence in pedagogy and student engagement. So of course I was apprehensive when my oldest, and now 2nd, child began at Kershaw. I am thrilled to say that I could hardly be more pleased with the education they are getting at this school. The teachers are outstanding: they are smart, energetic, caring, and enthusiastic. Keep up the great work!

As stated below, I researched the surrounding towns and found that Runnemede, Bellmawr, Haddon Heights (2 schools), Audubon and Barrington middle schools are all scoring way above us. ALL above state average. How do the teachers ask for more of anything with this being so blatant in front of everyone. Performance.... speaks volumes.

Parents should continue to research the surrounding towns, their schools and their teachers' contracts to see that Mt. Ephraim teachers and support staff are just asking to be comparable to comparable towns. Teachers have NEVER stopped providing quality instruction due to this distraction. They have remained professional, caring and concerned for each student entering their classroom. Sadly, if this is not your case, you are not dealing with a contract issue, you are dealing with a personal issue and should contact the teacher directly. Email addresses and phone numbers are provided on the school website.

The previous responses were correct. The techer contract situation has absolutely affected the classroom learning environment. There have been multiple mentions of this to the students and teachers have been picketing outside of the school. Th learning atmosphere is very poor. I do not feel that my child is being prepared for the next level of her education experience, high school. Teachers and support staff certainly spout the status quo but there is a clear issue with this school right now. From a parental viewpoint the constant reminder of no contract, ie picketing, signs in the car windows etc. , is distracting. The teachers are getting paid and have what would seem to be a fair offer to most people. Add to that the fact that the children are the ones being affected is very disconcerting. I am thankful this will be my last year in this particular school system.

My school is in terrible turmoil. Do NOT move into this district. The teachers do NOT teach. They have no contract and tell the students everyday. They have decided not to prepare the students for graduation, have classtrips, have a year book, or help the kids at all. They are basically striking while sitting in the classroom. BAD SITUATION.

Very bad. The teachers are lazy. They have no contract and decided to tell the students everyday and to make the kids suffer. My children have all gone through this school and it had REALLY gone DOWNHILL. It is not for educational purposes.
