Wildwood maintains its good test scores by holding back 10-20% of each class. Of course a bunch of 10-year-olds will score well on a grade 3 standardized test! Our child's teacher was mediocre, to put it charitably. Hopefully they will get rid of the worst teachers through early retirement. The infrastructure is good though.

My child is in kindergarden at Wildwood, and while I am extremely pleased with the caring an engaged teachers and staff, I believe that it is the community of parents that really makes Wildwood an outstanding school. I don't think that one can seperate the quaility of a school from the quality and involvement of the cummunity that it serves. The residents of Mountain Lakes actively sponsor and contribute to both formal and informal group activities for their children both inside and outside of school (e.g. sports, camping trips, pond hockey, dance, music, swimming). These activities play a central part in ensuring that a child's need for social development and moral growth are addressed in addtion to academics.
