SRH School is much like a private school. Parent involvement is very high. Teachers are totally committed and enthusiastic, especially in the lower grades. The special subjects teachers that teach computer ed and instrumental music are exceptional. As parents, we feel secure sending our children there. The principal is positive and welcoming. Our chilcren score high on state tests and we are kept in the loop about everything that goes on in the school. Our kids love it.
This is a warm, inviting schhol that offers many educational opportunities for pre K -5 children. i ahve been impressed with the level of skill my son has developed in the use of computers at such a young age. He is happy to go to school every day . His teachers work very hard to reach all the students.the PTA is exceptional.
Caring, dedicated teachers. All teacher specials are especially gifted and work hard with kids. Responsive principal. Has good technology program.
My son is in Mrs. Kirk's preschool class and she is excellent. Since the beginning of the year my son has learned so much and comes home with something new every day. I'm definitely looking forward to having Mrs. Kirk teach my son again for the second year or preschool.
I love this ES and am disappointed that we are going to be moving to another district. The Neptune school district has so much more to offer than neighboring districts. My son is only in PreK but everyone from his teacher to Mr Thompson the principal, to Mrs. Kohut the nurse and the PTA pres. Jen Latshaw are warm friendly and very involved on a personal level with the students and their parents.
Im dissapointed in this school. The lack of interest or concern the principal has shown is upsetting. I had to call the Board of Education for assistance. Two of my children transferred there from another Neptune school after moving into SRiver. We wish we had never enrolled in SRH. We are working on transferring back.
I love this school. My daughter has been going to this school since kindergarten and is starting 3rd grade this year. The teachers are great she has learned alot in the years have been there. The principal is excellent and my daughter really loves school. I love the school so much I am trying to get my son who starts kindergarten this year in shark river also.
Both of my children attend this school. My daughter came in as a pre-schooler; my son transferred from another school in the district. Very high level of parent involvement. Good, attentive teachers and a Principal who is very, very hands-on. He knows every parent, every child by name. Visits and observes each classroom several times per month. The school works hard to make sure that goals are met with each child. Shark River is also a very safe environment for the children. There are security cameras that are monitored all over the school. I am very, very pleased at the education that my children are receiving.
