It is a wonderful school for all age groups, but there have been many teacher changes in the first and second grades. A few years ago, I remember all the original teachers, but now looking I see many different teachers names in the school directory. The PTA is a great organization, it organizes many fun events like author visits, bingo nights, and programs like Reflections. Although the school seems to be quite plain, the teachers are fun and interesting according to my child. I think if any parents are concerned about moving away from their child's current school to Salt Brook, I'd say that they shouldn't worry about it. I also want to comment on the excellent music program that includes a great curriculum and teachers. I think it's an enriching experience for a child. In conclusion, Salt Brook is a very fine school.

Overall the school is excellent. However, the great Salt Brook experience is totally dependant on what teacher you have and some are much better than others. A lot of teacher turnover. Classes are big:23 students. There should be a mandate against lobbying for your favorite teacher-getting into a good class is frought with politics! Basically your next school year is a kraps shoot-your child can have an insane class that shows absolutely no common sense on how it was put together. Best advice, hold your breath and pray for a good class.

Overall, the school provides an excellent education. The PTA provides an extraordinary amount of programs to the school, like author day visits, school-wide assemblies, mini-grants for teacher-inspired projects, etc. Without these, the school would be quite blah. There is also too much turnover of teachers at the lowest grade levels, so I think that the ability to teach the curriculum properly is dependent on the teacher. Things stabilize at 4th grade.

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school's profile?

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
