i graduated this school in june 2005 and i could not be happier to say that i was a student here. The staff is amazing and teachers are wonderful. I had wonderful experiences here and sometimes wish i was still a child. there are bad students everywhere but i could honestly say in that time the good outweighed they bad

i absolutely love the school and I'm kind of sad I'll be graduating this year being part of the class of 2010. the only thing I've have against this school is the some of the students are disrespectful and down right vulgar. if it weren't for the some what bad student population this school had it would be considered a great school for kids. But still i believe the school prepared me well for my high school pick. I'm going to science high school

I can tell you as an educator at the school, in the past it has not been run well at all. The last 5 years have been tough, but that is 100% due to the horrible administration in the building. This year, 2009-2010 looks to be a better year. We have a new principal and VP and teacher moral is going to skyrocket which will greatly help the children. Parents, we need your help though! Please attend school meeting and functions to support not only your children but the teachers who educate and stand up for your children on a daily basis. We truly have a great team of teachers in the building and now that we have new administration, I think we will see several changes for the better! Stay positive, LMMMS is about to take a turn for the better!

LMMMS is one of the most unorganized schools that I have ever been involved with. My child has been in the school for the 4th straight year. The principal is clueless!! The school don't offer as many activities as other schools. Marin does not properly prepare for anything-my daughter was on volleyball and cheerleading and for each tournament, they were not well prepared so they lost horribly for those events. This school is so last minute. The HS fair was only mentioned to the students the Friday before the fair. I am still trippin about the uniforms. They sent nothing home telling the parents where to buy uniforms-most schools had the students measured for uniforms at their schools and were even given discount coupons for certain stores. I'm sorry Ms. Ruiz left before we came-I'm glad this is our last year. Test scores are horrible!

There is sufficient parental involvement; however, many are uneducated and do not speak English. They seem to show up to parental meeting to socialize and figure out what is going on, since the school is so unorganized. The academic program does not properly educate the children. Teachers seem to be fulfilling a role versus actually educating. There are extracurricular activities, but they are not well organized either. Sometime, children are aimlessly roaming the halls. In my opinion, the principal in charge of this school is incompetent or overwhelmed. At this time, I do not know which. But, soon I want have to wonder anymore. My child will soon be moving on. But, I still wonder about the others.

Luis Mu oz Marin Middle School is, in my opinion the top middle school in Newark, New Jersey. It offers an array of highly educated, professional, and benevolent teachers. This year I will be graduating the 8th grade, but I know that Luis Mu oz Marin Middle School has prepared me for what lies ahead in the future.
