The support and work ethic from the administration, teachers and parents at this school is unbelievable. Certain things change over time, but Ann Street can always have pride in the fact that they always strive to be the best and maintain a standard of excellence in all their endeavors.
This school has dedicated and motivated teachers who go above and beyond to help each student reach his/her point of success. The students are eager to learn and follow the school motto of being respectful, responsible and getting a good education.
This school not only is a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, but one that exemplifies what community partnerships impact has on our children. This school teaches children to "Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Get a Good Education." Above all this school particiaptes in district and nationwide contest that have placed them at the top. I am so proud of Ann Street School and wish I could just scream it out and let the boys and girls know how proud I am of all of them!
Ann Street instills the values of respect, responsibility, and a good education within students. Children are encouraged to strive and succeed with great tenacity and passion. Ann Street has always driven me to focus on my accomplishments and work to the best of my ability.
this is a good school but not very good school because alot of kids dont repect their teachers, wonder around the halls and get bad grades
test scores are getting worse by the year the younger students seem to be more older and smarter then the older kids. Like my son he realy does not care to much if he gets a C hes like fine.
I agree with one of the parents. I t is a great school however it is not diversed at all although it is located in Newark. Kids need more exposure to other cultures other than their own. The same for the teachers.
i have been in this school for 8 years, and i have to tell you it is the best school in Newark. The student, teachers, and staff are all friendly and they are always there to support you.
I attended Ann Street school for 9 years and graduated in the class of 2004. Ann Street School has been one of the most memorable times in my life and it was definately the school for me. National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Ann Street will continue to prosper because Ann Street in the best elemenatary school in Newark New Jersey!
Ann Street School has an excelent reputation for it's academic programs. The overalla atmosphere is one of high sxpectations and gentle nurturing. I am somewhat concerned about the availability of diverse experiences, not just for the 'minority' students but overall. In a small section of Newark, many I met at this school were misinformed and full of fear about cultures other than the ones represented at Ann Street. I do not think this is premeditated, just the result of isolation by teachers and other staff to true cultural diversity (vs. images and stereoptypes perpetuated in movies and TV for example. Prent involvement at this school is to be commended! Parents realy get the connection between a good education and success in the future and they also know that the staff at Ann street school are dedicated and sincere.
I am currently an Ann Street student in eighth grade and I am getting ready to take the GEPA. Mr. Maccia has excellent expectations for his students to succeed. Ann Street School is the best school I've ever been to and I hope that it will continue to be the best school. I am proud of Mr. Maccia and his faculty.
Ann Street School is a highly respected elementry school in the state of New Jersey. It has been honored for this by being named a Blue Ribbon School.I am an Ann Street Alumni and currently have my 2 sons ages 8 and 13 who have attended this school since kindergarden and I am very impressed with the progress they have made. The Principal, Mr. Joseph Maccia and his teaching staff take a seriuos approach to the education, safety and overall well being of the students that attend Ann Street School. Mr. Maccia and his staff have been very successful in getting the parents envolved in the education of the sons and duaghters. I personally believe that this is the key to the schools success. The school is dedicated to the academic achievements of its students. Keep it up !
I graduated from Ann Sreet School in 1977 and it was a great scholl then. My daughter now attends Ann Street and I am very pleased with all that happens in this school, both academically and disciplinary. Congratulations to Mr. Maccia, and all his staff.
My son completed kindergarten and is on to 1st grade although at times the teachers overstepped thier boundaries in matters that are a parents responsability, the curriculum is a cut above especially with the introduction of foriegn language classes.
