Class size is too large. With the amount of homework given, there has to be more individual attention to reinforce daily lessons. Parents are not allowed to observe children while in class. Appointments must be made, which are not always convenient for parents that work 8-5. The school could do more to motivate the younger children. Before care should be looked into. Provide more structure & learning activities during the aftercare program. Hire more polite / professional administrative office staff.

I agree with the September 2003 post. I believe the school is great but the class size is way too big. I had a son and a daughter there. My daughter did wonderful but my son did not. Class size for teacher is big but teacher did not put enough effort in helping my son either. I would also like to see a summer school program. My son was kept back twice in this school with no chance of going to summer school. It's either pass or fail and I don't want to keep holding him back.

My son has been in this school for the past four years. As far as academics and discipline, I rate the school an A+. However, being that there is a large hispanic population in the school, I think the school needs to hire more experienced teachers. It is difficult for children who are struggling to learn the language to learn from accented English. I have encountered several teachers with very heavy accents in which I, myself, have difficulty understanding. I also think that more extracurricular activities should take place, especially for the lower grades. It seems that all extracurricular activities are aimed at the higher grades. I also believe that the teachers have too many children assigned to them, not giving the opportunity for more personal teaching. I feel that assistant teachers should be hired to give the children room for one-on-one learning.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
