Old principal Ms Nick has gone. The new principal hasn't got enough skills to hear the problems of the kids. they introduced the ipad even for kids in 5th grade. they try to avoid the expenses related to text book and all the assignments in i pad rather than using paper and pen . so simply the kids are using i pad more than 10 hours a day. when ever they can they play games or watch video. Nobody can control with that even with parenting control option in i pad. we made the complaint many times. but the principal just ignoring parents. many kids went away from the school last year, because of the these all. we are still waiting to see any improvements. because we like the christian education.

The best kept secret! I am so happy to have found a home for my children at St. Joseph Regional School. The staff go above and beyond and the students love their school. Community is the best word to describe this school which provides a challenging education for my children. Very pleased!

From the minute I walked through the front door on my first visit to St. Joe's 5 years ago, I knew that this was the place for my children. It has everything we are looking for in a school: high academic standards in a structured and loving environment, before and after-care right in the school, a welcoming environment for parents to be involved and present. Not only does every teacher know every child in the school by name, but so does Father Brian, who has been a great support. My boys can't wait to get to school each morning and that means the world to me as a parent.

This school is truly a gem of Sussex County. When you enroll your child, you instantly become part of the community and are welcomed with open arms. The faculty from administration on down deeply care for and nurture our children on a daily basis. Father Brian Sullivan is an champion of our school and has reinvigorated the community. Over 40% of the students fall into the 95% or better for standardized testing. There is before and after care, and for the price of tuition, you not only feel that your child is getting an excellent education, you see that the staff cares for your children as if they were there own. Every student knows and looks after one another from 7th grade on down to pre-school. My son has a learning disability and has been afforded not only state services, but his teacher independently chooses to stay afterschool once a week to work with him as needed. You can't ask for more dedicated or caring teachers and parents.

St. Joe's is a bright light in a dark and dismal educational system. After a horrific experience with the public school system, St. Joseph's is a breath of fresh air. The teachers are wonderful and the recent renovations to the school are fantastic. There is a deep sense of community and the teachers commitment to the welfare of the children is unmatched. The academic environment is extremely demanding & competitive with a sense of supportive cooperation. The school has a state of the art technology program and the computers are first rate. The religious education at the school, with a strong foundation of morals and ethics, is skillfully blended with academic excellence. St. Jo's is great!

My son is a 6th grader, and has been at St. Joseph Regional School since Kindergarten. There is no place else that I would ever entrust my child. He not only receives an exceptional education, but he is also loved and cared for by all of the teachers and staff. It is truly amazing to watch the devotion of the teachers. They come in early, and stay late at night. They are the epitome of what any parent would look for in a professional. I highly recommend the school. In fact, my niece now attends the school. When my son is ready for high school, I will be proud but also wistful. The years may keep moving, but we will always call St. Joseph our home.

My children have been students at St. Joseph for 5 years. We feel so lucky that we found this wonderful school! All of the teachers & staff are a 2nd family to us. Our experience in the public school system cannot compare to the academics, structure & community involvement at St. Joe's. The teachers work very hard to prepare our children & provide them with the best education possible. Our children are growing, thriving & sincerely enjoying their faith based education. The teachers have taken the time to know and understand our boys, and encourage their strengths. We wanted a school that would reinforce what we teach at home, and we found it here at St. Joe's. This school has provided the best foundation for the academic and spiritual development of our children and many others. When my boys graduate, they will never truly leave because St. Joe's will always be home!

We are so thankful that we found the gem that is St. Joseph Regional in Sussex County. From our very first visit to the school, we continue to be impressed 6 years later. Star School recognition, small class sizes, motivating teachers, accelerated curriculum all contribute to a well-rounded program. The students are learning in a supportive, caring environment but are also challenged to do their best. We believe there is no better place that could have had such a positive impact on the formation of our children, and it has provided an invaluable addition to the foundation we created at home. The experience of having our children grow up in St. Joseph has enriched all of our lives. We highly recommend this school to anyone who wishes to give their children a great education.

Hi. I'm a student at this school. It is a really great school. All the teachers are nice and most of the kids are too. We learn a lot here, and we have a lot of homework. I would know.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
