NCS is truly a "Community" School. The family support and excellence in education makes this one of the top schools in South Jersey!

I was a student at this school years ago and now am a student teacher about to graduate TCNJ. In the time I spent tutoring and teaching in several schools I have yet to see another school match the quality of education that was provided at NCMS. It should also be noted that all that this school operates with a budget below state averages, yet still produces students who achieve greatly in high school and beyond. As to the complaints about bullying that I have read in other reviews, I do remember seeing it myself as a student. However, what I have seen in other schools is far worse than what I experienced at Northfield and it is naive to believe that kids will ever treat all their peers with respect and kindness. I don't like seeing multiple negative reviews for a school I remember fondly and a school that looks better and better in comparison as I work in more schools.

I was a student at this school several years ago, and I must say that I find it very interesting that this school is JUST NOW cracking down on its extreme problem with bullying. I was SEVERELY bullied when I attended NCS, along with several other students, to the point where there were several incidents that my parents and other parents would come up to the school and complain. Every time they were told something would be done and nothing was ever done. I will even go as far as to say that teachers even encouraged the bullies, favoring the "popular" students and not encouraging those who faded into the background. I think the steps they are now taking to prevent bullying are too little, too late, as the damage has been done in many circumstances of some of the other students in my graduating class.

Lots of things I love about this school, primarily the many great teachers who go above and beyond. The prinicpal is largely a noshow and there is little recognition of a bully problem.

Some teachers are wonderful, others aren't good at all. The principal isn't as involved as she should be. The school certainly doesn't live up to its reputation.
