Former student from OTHS, graduating class of 2007. Some of the staff are dedicated and take time to listen to students, while others will ignore everything (that, and they cannot be fired due to tenure usually). Administration is horrendous. They do not listen to parents or students when an issue inside their academics or outside. They would rather brush you off and ignore it, as the former reviewer had stated. The principal in charge is not worthy of the position, as she is far more into it for the politics and possibly the lime light than actually turning this school around. Despite all the faults, you can still get a decent education and the occasional teacher who you will remember forever.

I am a former student at OTHS and I loved the school, class of 2007. The teachers were great and the after school activities are endless. But the administration has gone to the dogs. My class hated the principal as well. Especially at the graduation ceremony she couldn t contain us, even after four years of trying. I also recently attended the graduation ceremony for the class of 2009, which is the reason why I am writing this. I was appalled to hear the principal Julia Davidow literally mangle each and every students name during the graduation ceremony. Even my little sister s name she couldn t pronounce which angered me because she has a very general name and Julia Davidow was a former English teacher. As I said the school in phenomenal but the administration lacks horribly.

I am very unhappy with this school. The academics are the only thing good about it. The faculty for the most part is average.nothing special. The administration is horrible. They do not adress problems here. they sweep them under the carpet. This school is over rated and not worthy of it.

I am realy pleased with this school. There are many activities for students to get involved - marchnig, jazz, and concert band, sports, TV Production - the possibilities are endless. The academic program is geared toward college prep, and the guidance counselors take time to actually 'guide' the success of the students.

Ocean township high school is a decent school. Although some students come to school thinking their in a fashion show! I find it repulsive and degrading the way some of my peers dress. I think the administration should consider uniforms at least 3 days a week. I hope that Ocean Township High School will hire more minority teachers.

I was a student of the graduating class of 2003. The special education classes are good but they are not forced upon a student you have to ask for them I suggest a class called study skills the class teaches test taking and gives time in school for home work for the easily distracted. The school has a problem keeping principles.

Special education wise it is lacking. Some teachers are not equipt to handle children with emotional disabilities. Administration also lacks professional knowledge in this area as well.

I respect the curriculum and the teachers of Ocean Township, but am disappointed in the lack of diversity allowed by the administration. I was a student at Ocean Township High School from 1993-1997, and I witnessed a few occasions involving hate speech and intolerance that went unpunished by the administration. Because there are so few people of color, one can not expect total equality, but encouragement by the administration and a policy of zero tolerance can be the great equalizer.

OTHS Can be fun but it also has its downfalls. there is a lot of pressure on the student body to fit in with the trend of school and i sometimes feel as if i don't fit in with the latest trends.I think that the student body should wear a uniform three days a week. So that individuality is still expressed but their is less pressure.
