We love SEARCH! It has done so much for our son and has a great sibling group. No sending district can compair to the quality that is offered @ SEARCH!

My son went to Search for 14 years. I thought the school and the educators were tremendous. When my son (who is autistic) first started there he did not speak at all, now he is very social. I loved the school. The teachers and aides were loving and devoted. The only down-side was the lack of staff for job sampling, which is why he is now at a public school. But if your child is between 3 and 14 i would highly recommend Search!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I did notice is the Rewards Given to the Teachers and Aides by COSAC as soon as I walked in the door. The aides are very attentive, caring and alert- (Rarely do you find 1 aide to 1 child ratio in public school districts), the Teachers seem to know what they are doing and they have two Behavior Therapists, Two Ocupational therapists, three Speech Pathologists in the same building at all times? ( Again, rare to find that kind of attention in public schools?) The Vocational Program is designed best on each childs skill sets and not generalized to just stuff envelopes.

I thought this school was excellent! The teachers and staff were upbeat and fun. every student had a smile on their face. i also visited the older classes and they did more than stuff envelopes. there are different classes for each child's skills. i saw a class doing a science lesson and i also saw a class working on dressing skills. i really enjoyed seeing this school.

I did not have a postitve experience at this school. My child was not challenged. The director was not responsive to my or my wife's requests for additional programs. A few good teachers however they were not sent for much relevant training. The aids were marginal at best. Just ask to see the older clases ie job training. Not much to speak of kids stuffing envelopes. I don't know about you but I want more for my child.
