Northern Valley Regional High School-Old Tappan

Since the last review (5 years ago), things have changed somewhat. Still a great school academically & still many spoiled rich kids. However, over the years, kids from foreign countries have been increasing for the good education but instead of getting the education (& learning english) their parents intended, many (not all) of these kids form their own crowd (some people call it a "gang") & to separate from the rest. To be fair, it can't all be the school's fault. Good schools attract many parents with good intention for their kids but unfortunately, many of those kids were reluctantly moved over seas & left alone without the direct parental guidance but with lots of money. Can any school do anything about this? That's a multimillion dollar question. What do other neighboring schools do differently? Stricter (educational, admission, etc.) policies, perhaps? Just my 2 cents...

This is a wonderful academic high school, as well as a school that offers tremendous opportunities for sports and activities equally for boys and girls.

NVOT provides an excellent education for it's students. College bound students are well prepared. The needs of classified and advanced students are met however the average student tends to get lost in the shuffle.
