Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I really like this school. This was my child's first year in this middle school and my child adjusted well. I feel that the teachers really love teaching. I am happy that we moved to this district.

wilson elementary school I love everything about this school. The staff, teachers and the parents of every child are awesome. The PTO is so involved with everything they can be and no matter what, they all do a fantastic job!! Your child is always treated fairly and without prejudice. Phenomenal school!!

My daughter attended this school for 6th and 7th grade. The teachers are helpful and they are very involved with the students and the parents. They provide a challenging academic curriculum encouraging the students to excel. My problem was the bullying. The guidance counselor was helpful, but the situation was escalated to the vice principal. The VP was rude with a phony personality and demeanor. She insinuated that my 7th grade daughter wasn't actually being bullied by a group of 8th grade girls when the facts were evident. The bullying took place in school, the bus and the internet. This persisted for months. The other girls parents were uninvolved (No Surprise). At one point, things were found written on the bus seat about my daughter in marker. Witnesses pointed to the group of 8th grade girls, but the vice principal had the nerve to ask my daughter if she wrote them about herself because the 8th graders said that she did! This nightmare damaged my daughter's self confidence terribly. Everyday she would come home in tears. Until this day, the VP nit picks her! The idea that the school has a no tolerance policy for bullying is ludicrous when the school's VP is a bully herself!

Great teachers in this school. Especially the 8th grade Language Arts Teacher Mrs. Cinalli. Wow! She knows her stuff, and makes the class interesting and fun.

i have mixed reviews about the school. on the whole, the school is okay, but more challenging work needs to be given to the above average kids. My son gets bored in class since he knows most of the stuff - more homework for him would be helpful. Also, more writing assignments are definitely needed. More participation in inter school competitions are also needed.

Getting worse every year. Academics is down, availability of courses is poor. Administration is horrible! They treat the good kids like criminals and the BAD kids it seems the administration is afraid of. Can't wait for my child to get out of Sayreville Middle School and we are seriously considering another school. Class sizes are ridiculously high and average children fall between the cracks. Teachers overall are caring but administration leaves little to desire.

I believe that my child is getting a decent education at at Sayreville Middle School.I do feel, however, that the students could be challenged more than they are.
