As a graduate of Pemberton Township High School, I get irritated when I hear people bash this school. I received an excellent education there from some very outstanding teachers. Also, the ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of the school ensured that I was able to relate to and work with people from all walks of life. Education is a team sport...you have to get out on the field and get involved if you want to succeed. I find that the people who do the most complaining about the school are those that sit on the sideline (or in the penalty box) and expect the education to be handed to them. Those of us who applied ourselves, got involved with clubs and sports, and took advantage of eveything this school had to offer, went on to great colleges and careers.

I am currently a junior on the Dean's List at Penn State, and I graduated PTHS in 2008. My success in getting to college and succeeding there is in no way a reflection of my education at Pemberton. To put it simply, Pemberton is a failing school. The teachers are qualified, but the administration only caters to disciplinary issues. There are no incentive programs for high-performing teachers, office staff/counseling/scheduling services are substandard, and students are not adequately prepared to succeed at a 4-year university. Violence has become a widespread problem, due to laughable security staff and unstructured free time in and out of the classroom. Extracurricular activities are mediocre at best. If I was planning on my child going to college, I would NOT send them to Pemberton.

My child has graduated from Pemberton HS, Thanks goodness! Most of the teachers are wonderful, and do thier best. The activities are all at the same time, so you much choose between things you want. The administration?? They do what they want, and only what they want. Why is there no parent involvement? Because the administration yeses parents and do thing thier way. When you get ignored enough you stop doing. And definatley stay far far aways from Mrs Meyers, she is the absolute worst teacher/person in the school!

I am a Junior at PTHS and from my three years of attending the school I can easily say that it is a well equiped facilty; excellent teachers, many extracurricular programs, etc. for those that are willing to learn. However, the school possesses a substandard learning environment ( I am refering to in-class distractions and poor discipline). Through personal experience, I have observed this to be a substantial problem only within the academic and ( what I can surmise) special education environments. Though, the learning environment within honors and AP classes, are applaudable. Seeing as PTHS is an ethnically diverse school it promotes one of two outcomes; students learn respect for one another or beat the snot out of each other. The school seems to try to hard to cater to its 'monorities' and needs to focus on what is best for all of its students, opportunity and discipline wise.

I am a sophomore at this High School, I believe Pemberton is a very good high school. The teachers are great, the support you receive there is wonderful. Overall I would say Pemberton is a good high school.

I am currently a student at PTHS. The school is not that great. The school is just a wild place, some students are out of control and there is constant fighting and confrontations throughout the school. Definitely do not recommend for any one pursuing a 4 year college after high school.

I've had two children graduate and one currently attending. I personally think the teachers are wonderful, but the administration and financial situation tends to be substandard. Extra curricular activities are great, but often lack appropriate funding.

This is a good school. I have had 4 children graduate and their experience in the school were great. Their education was more than expected, with great teachers and administrators. But, times have changed. The Board of Education and the Superintendent do not support its administrators or teachers. Discipline is weak at best with many disruptions daily. It is an on going battle to give the education to those students who want to learn. Hopefully things will change with a new Board and Superintendent. Until changes are made I'm afraid we will continue to see our highly gualified and experienced teachers leave the district.

I was a student at this school when my father was stationed at Ft. Dix. I loved this school. The teachers and staff made me feel right at home. I was involved in many of the school activities and my experiences at PTHS are still with me to this day.
