One star rating is the lowest...but this school deserves a zero star rating. Take a look at the school property...two very dangerous looking basketball hoops sit in the back of the facility on the play ground area used by the school. The blacktop is torn up and weedy...the place is impoverished. The school has students say they are homeschooled on college transcripts because they are not accredited. Waste of money, kids left with minimal education and destruction religious beliefs that most kids find to have been hurtful and controlling.

Poorly run. Students who have attended school at JDT Christian Academy tell of grumpy teachers and staff and poor education.

JDT Christian Academy is one if the safest, well protected guarded schools against theft, cruelty, and the cares that most parents have when sending their young children out to school. A lot of the Staff are or were parents, as was I, of students and treat the kids as if they were their own. Children get specialized care.

This school has been instrumental in helping special needs students that public school has given up on, or don't have the time to spend on one student. I have more than one friend who has enrolled their child and got great results. This school may not be for everyone, it is void of a lot of excess and fluff, but what it needs it has. My friends and I have nothing but great things to say about JDT Christian Academy.

Teachers do not have the teaching credentials required to teach the classes. This school is an extension of the controlling church that houses it...the teachers have degrees granted only by this church's bible college. The teachers are frequently away in Africa. All of the students are required to fast all day every Wed. The education is lacking, the students are left to entertain themselves frequently and the building has gone for months with only a few space heaters because the buildings gas was shut off. Poorly run, poorly cared for. Disappointing to the kids who have attended there.

School is small in size but great in personal attention to the needs of every student. I appreciate the Christian atmosphere and the safe environment provided for the students. Staff members are caring and have both academic and spiritual credentials that make me comfortable in knowing that my children are receiving what they need.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
