I believe that, although the teachers are kind and push students to be their best, the do not support any extra-curricular activities. the band and chorus teachers are amazing, and so is the theatre teacher. in addition, band is now included as one of the classes, taking time away from the other arts. which leads me to say that there are no classes that support certain lessons in a way that students will love them, such as a science class for children who want to a excel, or the same for math. To add more, enrichment classes are now for selected students only. such that say if your child would excel in a certain subject, such as math, they would previously get the enrichment of math Olympiad. now, all children who were not selected are forcibly required to take extra help classes that may not even be needed. my child had straight A's, but did not get selected to take the test to get into the enrichment program, so next year, he will have to take unneeded extra help classes. although they have an excellent peer leader program where older students go to help the younger ones (not supported by many teachers, just like band and chorus). Although it has been great until now.

No public school is without issues, however AMS has a dedicated principal and staff that are identifying and re-evaluating the needs of our children and parents. Monumental changes and consistency have been implemented for the better. Obvioiusly there is room for improvement, but we are headed in the right direction.

I am currently on the student council at Alexandria Middle School, and there happen to be many extra curricular activities here. Our music program is among the best, and my job on the student council is to make school fun and inviting. We offer many fun activities, like after school parties for the younger children and dances for the older students. Our teachers are amazing; we are so lucky to have them. And a large portion of the teachers work after school at the parties and dances to chaperone, so they most certainly try to make school fun! I have so much fun in school, and I wish we had more than 5 years of middle school!

I was so impressed by the Principal, he provided us a one on one meeting to transistion our child into the building. Strong communication via the internet by the teachers and team time built into their schedule to meet with parents at any time. Students have hour long classes and 45 min specials, a true middle school.

teams of teachers for each grade level with special education teacher. Principal has moved moutains to get teachers to like kids and accept parents in the building.

I was completely dissapointed with this school. There are few extra curricular activities. Teachers and the principal do not try to make school happy or fun for students.
