We just moved into this school district this summer. Unlike other reviews, we found that school has both before and after school care through Work Family Connections. You don't even need to be registered full time and can use it on as needed basis. The teachers are very friendly, office staff seems friendly as well. The curriculum seems to be a little behind the Cherry Hill school district. Everything that our son learned in K, he is going through now in 1st grade.
We are new to the Lester D. Wilson school but have found the school to be very welcoming. The class sizes are terrific and the teachers are very committed. I feel my child is getting the attention and support she needs to be successful. The school has an awesome garden which the children help to plant and harvest. There is no before care or after care program.
The teachers are good. the office staff is very unfriendly...such a turn off, they should represent the school better. the bussing is terrible, kindergarten should not be on the same busses as 8'th graders. also the pick up procedure at school is awful, if you wish to pick up your child. you must walk a long distance to the front door. the sidewalk is dangerously close to a busy road. you the must wait in a line to sighn your child out. no one is checking to see that you are who you state to be...therefor defeating the purpose of the whole thing...alot to be improved opon.
We are very disappointed that the school does not have full day kindergarten or before school care. Currently the after school care program is in jeopardy, as well. To compound the difficulty for working parents, the district has an extremely strict transportation (busing) policy that does not allow for transportation to an alternate care giver. The school administration is known as 'cold'. In contrast, we have had a wonderful experience with the teachers we have encountered.
