Antim is an amazing school...When your child comes homes and tells you how much he loves his teachers and that he wants to go to college there too you know that it is very special!!He is in 1st. grade..I believe they should be nominated! Thank-you from a proud parent.
My grand children have grown and developed there like Not possible anywhere else
As a parent who teaches in another NJ district, I could not be more pleased with G. Harold Antrim Elementary School. The class sizes are ideal (my kids have 15 and 16 kids in thier classes) and allow for individualized instuction. The teachers and principal know my children by name-even if they never had them in their class. Extra curricular activities may be limited, but so is student population. The PTO is outstanding and their fundraising efforts have helped Antrim beyond belief. The technology in the school compares with high tuition private schools in Monmouth County.
Antrim has an excellent reputation. One noteworthy statistic is that the teacher turnover is nearly nonexistent because it's such a desirable place to work.
I came where the public school system was and is excellent. My hs was 1500 in the nation (newsweek 2008). Pros: small class sizes, generally good teachers. Cons: no emphasis at all on the arts, narrow sport avenues with unfair monetary distribution and because it is a small school-cliques ,bullying and partial disciplinary actions .definitely a`lot of hype for nothing special. Grade : C .
I came here from a large town where our children were in Catholic school, which was becoming to expensive for us. I could not be more pleased with the G Harold Antrim school. My children have adapted extremely well. They love the faculty, staff, and friends they have made, and do not want to be anywhere else. We couldn't be more pleased ourselves with the tight knit' family' this school offers.
That is one parent talking in the negative post above- the schools are very highly rated. There is not 'lots of bullying, harrassment and unethical behavior by faculty. This was one incident and has been dealth with by the Board of Education in the appropriate way. The class sizes are small, the teachers all know the students and their siblings making for a very comfortable environment for the children. The high school is ranked 45th I believe in the state and I have had one child graduate Antrim and PBHS and my other child graduated Antrim and is currently in PBHS and thriving. This is an excellent school system.
Don't Be deceived lots of bullying, harassment and unethical and biased behavior by faculty makes this 'quaint' small school something completely different.
Amazing school!!!!! I love it!!!!
Antrim is a beautiful school in a small town. Parent involvement is superb. A pupil drop of and pick up system eliminates school busses in this two square mile town. A transport company caters to the special needs. For the students safety and traffic monitoring, a schools 'PAL' officer is always around. Gifted and talented and early intervention meet students at both ends of the learning spectrum. Clubs, arts and sports all offer plenty of extra curricular activities.
