We have two children at St. Peter School and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. For our children, St. Peter's feels like an extension of our home. At school they feel safe and cared about. They truly love the friends they have made and the opportunity to play on sports teams to represent their school. As a parent, knowing that our children are receiving a wonderful education while learning the importance of being kind and respectful to others, provides us great reassurance that our children are not only learning what they need to academically, they are also receiving spiritual lessons that will last them a lifetime. The active participation of parents in School activities and sports programs reinforces to the students how much their parents care about their education and is another example of why St. Peter's is a wonderful community.

As a St. Peter alumnus and the parent of 3 St. Peter alumni I can honestly say that we are so very proud to be associated with such a respected catholic school. Early on, my husband and I made the commitment to send our children to St. Peter's School. Our children are respectful, faith-filled and successful adults. They, along with my husband and I, have made life-long friends. The decision we made is one we will never regret. All of our lives were changed for the better. We are and always will be "SAINTS FOREVER"!

After going through 12 years of Catholic schooling, I wanted to give my children the same opportunity. We wanted a school that would provide not only a great education, but would also teach our children to walk in God s footsteps. St. Peter s school has smart board in every classroom, the media center is amazing and with the new state of the art science lab we were sold. While touring, we met Liz, a parent on lunch duty. She talked about St. Peter as if it was a member of her family and I totally understood what she meant. In St. Peter, your children are receiving reinforcement of the same morals and values they are taught at home. There is no tolerance for bullying, children are taught to treat others the same way they would like to be treated, with kindness, compassion and respect. There is something about a Catholic education that is different and hard to explain. My husband did not attend Catholic school and would always debate the difference with me. We just completed our 6th year of Catholic schooling and my husband can now feel the difference. The funny part is he can t really explain it either. St. Peter gives that to us and our girls every day they are there.

Saint Peter s is a warm friendly school that became an extention of our family from the day we had our first daughter enter in Kindergarten! The wonderful families we made friends with were in addition to the academic success. All four children were very successful in high school and in college and continue to cherish their friends from st. Peter s. Take a look at the school today and you will see the advanced technology including smart boards in every room and I pads used from k through 8th grade. The religious values practiced at the school have complimented the values from home. Thank you to the wonderful faculty and staff!

Small gem of a school located on the Jersey Shore. All of my children attended, each with different strengths and weaknesses, all of them learned self discipline and organizational skills that continue to carry them through their high school years and beyond.A dynamic PTA encourages parental involvement which I feel is key to educational success . The values we teach at home are reinforced daily in class. My children are enjoying the success they have in their teens and twenties because of the foundation laid at St. Peter School.

My daughter is currently in 5th grade at St. Peter School. This is her first year there and I can honestly say hands down that this was the best decision that I have ever made in my life for her. My daughter is thriving in the schools smaller atmosphere. The care and concern that the teachers, staff and parents show is beyond no other. My only regret is that I wish I had enrolled her with St. Peter School sooner. I finally see the full potential that my daughter has within her and the teachers have guided my daughter to show her how to shine within herself.

St. Peters is a strong academic school with a warm, nurturing environment. I have 2 children in the school and 2 that went on to private high school. They have done tremendously well and I attribute that to their surroundings at St Peters for grades K-8. They have both excelled in Math and Science. I cannot say enough about the advanced math program. We have experienced nothing but a strong, well coordinated administration with a great focus on catholic identity. If you are looking for a catholic school with great academics and a great community feel then St Peters is the place. We will miss it when we are done a few years from now. It has become a big part of our life.

Beautiful school and church just blocks from the beach. My first impression was of delight. Then my son attended & to sum it up we were very disappointed with the academics, and lack of concern with ongoing bullying by school. We have transferred our son to a different school & are very happy with the decision. Wish we could get all the wasted money back. Thinking of having your child attend St.Peters in PPB NJ then be prepared for wasting money and big disappointments with staff and academics. Non caring selfish environment.

St.Peters has an ongoing bullying issue that faculty declines to address causing a negative environment. The teachers are "not" caring and/or respectful to the students or parents. and the only challenging thing about the academics is the teachers continually mis-grading the homework and exams. There is no humble, caring, nurturing environment here.

Saint Peter School is filled with respectful students and caring teachers. My children are excited to attend school each and every morning and are challenged by the academics being taught on a daily basis.

Teachers are not very nurturing in our experience. They seem frustrated. The administration are technologically impaired and afraid of change. Four different parents in our class mentioned "bullying" as a problem but each time admins said it was "the first time they'd heard of it." The PTA is overbearing and out of control. We gave it a few years, but ultimately left. Our children had no problem not returning.

My son was sent here from k-8, in 5th grade i was about to transfer him but decided not. Boy what a mistake, he came home everyday to complain on how he hated the school the people the atmosphere. I have 4 kids all together and the three others went to a different catholic school and would complain but not like the child at st peters. In all i regret sending my child there, and when his friends ask me why i sent him there, my son jumps in and says 'i deny ever going there.'

St Peter's is 'going green' and helping students understand how they impact the world around them in addition to 'Respect, Reverence, and Responsibility' general teachings. Great classroom environment. Great kids.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
