I wrote a review of this school over three years ago praising the Early Childhood Center (preschool program) when our eldest child was the only one enrolled. What we've learned about the school since then, (along with the ongoing upgrades to the program) as he and another of our children have completed the ECC program have only made us love it more. A more academic 'junior kindergarten' program has been instituted. Our children come home proudly 'showing off' Hebrew greetings and phrases they've learned, and happily singing Shabbat songs after their weekly Friday morning celebrations. And the families this school is built around could not be more generous with each other. This is an incredible environment for children and their families, and we are happy to have our youngest starting this program in the fall. You won't find a more caring, nurturing home-away-from-home for your preschoolers.
HAMC is a warm and wonderful place - the staff send their own children there and everyone is treated like family. The work is challenging and brings out the best in my children. There are fun afterschool activities - my younger daughter is in Brownies there and my older girl is crew for the school production of 'Grease'. When a family is in trouble, everyone pulls together to help, and when a family is celebrating , we all celebrate together!
Fantastic pre-K program focusing on the child's social development and joy in participating in Jewish life. Children come home singing and excited about tzedekah, mitzvot, and going back to the next day. I think it's the only private school that's a Blue Ribbon School (US govt honor through NCLB) in the whole state of NJ, also - but I think that's for the K-8 academic program. A superb school with caring staff that makes every effort to be affordable, with a middle-income tuition cap, and assistance programs for both the pre-k and older grades. (and the best Mommy & Me program we've ever seen, run by the Nursery School Director herself.)
A great, nurturing environment that works at being cutting edge on every front!
It is a wonderful place for my children to learn and grow. My children are receiving an excellent education in a warm environmnent. As a community day school, Jewish families from all types of backgrounds and observances come together without judging each other. The children learn about their heritage but also learn to be contributors to and successful in the general community. Excellent academics, values based learning and a nurturing environmnet you don't find in public schools.
Big bucks for an average school. Facilities way outdated. Needs to do bettr weeding out of unsuitable kids. Tries to be too many things.
