Saint Peter Academy is a wonderful school for most children but beware that Academics are stressed intensly. Very Challenging curriculum. The teachers are wonderful and truly care about th kids. The older kids are always looking out for the younger children. My oldest has been at the school for the past 8 years and has done extremely well, my 2 younger children have also done extremely well, both entering Kindergarten already reading and doing wonderfully in their academic persuits. The administration is good but could be better like any other school but as a parent you'll get out of the experience what you put into it, you need to be informed & involved. Overall we're very happy with St. Peter Academy!!
St. Peter Academy is a wonderful school, both academically adn socially. There are many activities for the students to interact with students from other grades allowing for social growth beyond the classroom. The teachers are first rate and my children love to go to school there.
We have been disappointed at SPA. Academically, I find it to be excellent. The campus is beautiful and while the facilities are older, they are updated and well cared for. But I feel there has been a one size fits all model for students. I also put my young children in after care begrudgingly because I do not feel supervision is sufficient. I agree with other parents that have stated administration is not welcoming to parental concerns. We were going to wait out the year, but we may put our children elsewhere before the end of this school year.
I agree with the parent that said parental involvement is not welcomed at all, I had the same experience during our time at St. Peter's. I found the Administration to be quite unapproachable. Academics are stressed, but to a fault. There are other areas of child development that are ignored meet high academic standards. Safety issues are also overlooked.
I have been teaching at this school for the past 15 years. They have been years of happy teaching. This is due to our principal leading the way and giving her all for the students. I rate this school one of the best.
Great school - but not a great administration. Parental involvement is not welcomed at all. Very unapproachable. Problems are hushed up and communication is nill.
SPA is a wonderful school. Pros: STRONG academics, really can't be beaten; family atmosphere; beautiful 'campus'; Catholic faith based, but respectful and inclusive of other faiths; kids appear to be really happy here. Cons: Aftercare is insufficeint; lunch program could be better; not open to many new ideas. While no place is perfect, this is a really great school. A warm environment in a hectic world that will help make your child well rounded and really prepare them for the next step. It's diverse and more of a 'regional' school now, with students from many, many towns represented here. Great choice.
I love this school for my child. He was reading halfway through kindergarten and really loves going to school everyday. The teachers care and there is alot of parent involvement. I don't regret for a minute choosing this school for his education.
This is a great school. Check the test scores against area schools, Catholic or Public, and you can see the numbers for yourself. Academics are stressed. It's a warm family atmosphere. They have so many activities for the kids...check out the website and look at updated news... they really keep them interested. Clubs & extra-curricular activities are excellent for an elementary school. This school is well worth the cost.
The school provides a fantastic academic and faith based education. My girls and all of the students are very happy there. The students are extremely prepared for high school. The tuition is very reasonable and well worth it.
