Park Lake School is an amazing school that really helps not just the kids, but even the parents of Special needs children. The school has a vibrant PTA, does an awesome dinner dance, and is able to really help kids. The districts try to keep kids, but fight to get your child in this school, its better than what any district can offer.

The summer program at Park Lake School is great, and keeps kids with Special Needs busy for the extended school year. They go on weekly trips, they enjoyed swimming, and they enjoyed walking trips. Park Lake School is dedicated to kids with special needs, and I am very happy with the exteneded year program

This is a wonderful school with a group of fabulous teachers, para professionals and therapists. The new principal is a joy to work with - very open and easy to talk to. My son absolutely loves it at Park Lake and we are very pleased with the program. Like any school, it takes active involvement to make sure the program is appropriately tailored for your child, but at Park Lake we all work together as a team. As a parent, you can't ask for anything else - to be listened to and heard is a beautiful thing.

This school is outstanding for autistic and developmentally disabled students. They have an awesome summer program, which runs for 6 weeks.

I am the Grandmother of a soon-to-be 5th grade student at Park Lake. I live out of state so my daughter and son-in-law keep me posted on my granddaughter's progress. She was transferred to Park Lake last year and has blossomed socially and in all other aspects of her life. She has Autism. Rather than regressing, she is doing so well...I have such hope! God bless the staff and all auxiliary personnel for all that you do for our children!

Great school, great district great teachers, kids will definitely benefit from the program! Only downfall is the nasty principal. She treats her staff terribly-once she goes Park Lake will be the perfect school.

This school takes the word disabled out of a child's vocabulary. The teachers are incredible as is all the staff. The children have wonderful activities both on school property and off. Each day is a celebration. The education that these children get far surpasses any other disabled facility I visited as a parent. I can not say enough about all they do as teachers, caregivers, friends, and everything else a child needs whether disabled or typical. The parents are well taken care of too. Absolutely outstanding!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
