Roxbury has so many paths for all of its students to take, and they support everything! The student body is full of amazing and intelligent young scholars. no matter what group of friend you have, everyone gets along. The staff cares so much about each and everyone of the students. if a student asks any staff member for help they will be willing to stay late, come early, or give up a lunch to make sure that student succeeds. The administration staff is very involved with the student body, I'm so lucky to have the opportunity to attend Roxbury High School

Let me first say welcome to the Roxbury family. The schools are far superior to other districts. It's a warm and friendly community, from my experience coming from a sub par district my children grew by leaps and bounds in the Roxbury schools. My 4th child is starting full day kindergarten this year and I couldn't be more proud of this district for preparing our children of today for the adults of our future

Our two children have attended Roxbury High School and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience they've had and the strong sense of community and academic achievement they've benefited from.

I am a former student of this school. While I attended there was an over emphasis on sports and the band and almost no focus on the actual LEARNING. The text books were outdated and the teaching staff was not invested and did not properly teach the vast majority of the students. The staff mostly focused on the children with the richest parents, hoping to get donations from them at the expense of others. The school is cold and without natural light. The special education department is atrocious and does not leave those students in any way ready for the world after school. This is a school that puts up a good front but does not deliver. Please be wary of enrolling your child if you are moving into this township.

The principal is clueless! They do not prepare kids for college. They do not offier enough AP classes for students. They focus on sports more then education. Test scores low! teachers have kids watch movies instead of having to teach them. Overall this school district is one of the worst around yet we pay some high taxes just not sure for what. They over test the kids preparing them for state testing (lower levels) If the house values were there I would move to get my kids away from this school district and this high school. They cut classes and their alternative for that is block scheduling. So now you have teachers who could barely teach for 45 minutes going to be teaching for 70 to 80 minutes. Yeah that makes sense. One teacher actually was teaching the kids God is not real because that is her view. This school many many years ago used to offer so much. Now the only thing it offers is really nothing. Over paid stafff, no suport for good teachers, some lazy teachers that need to retire, no challenges.

I am a former student of Roxbury High School and couldn't say enough good things about my experience. If you have an open mind and want to try a little of everything, then everything is available to you. I was involved in so many things that I honestly couldn't even explore half of the activities offered. Vocal music, instrumental music, shop, sports, theater... When I think back to all the things I was involved with it makes my head spin. The school doesn't have windows. That fact has been a fun conversation piece ever since I left, but it really won't bother you until the dead of winter if you're a winter athlete and go a few months not seeing the sun. Violence? Not a problem. A scuffle is bound to break out now and again but there was never a time the staff wasn't in control.

I love honors programs and the AP classes. The teachers are very approachable and want to help the kids. My children have made wonderful friends and have learned how to get along with kids of different backgrounds. Three of my children have gone on to college and I felt that they were well preprepared.

choir and band are excellent,so was orchestra but Mrs. Griggs leaving was very, very disappointing to the students and parents. Sports and parent involvement are excellent but if your not involved with any of the above than you must be either a 'trouble-maker' or invisible. There are only windows in the front of the building so it's old and dismal. school security is good--as long as they like you there's no problem--otherwise little harassment's do occur and can escalate into other problems. Unless your into sports big-time i wouldn't bother with this school!!

Roxbury High school is a great school. I must say. Their band program is most excellent. After-school marching band got a 97.375 (school record) at East Coast championships.) The sports team very well. Both of these organizations contain much practice. The parent involvement is very high. The academics in the school are very good. Their faculty is top notch, with teachers who are willing to devote their time to the students who may have questions or require extra help. The school, is not great shape, nor is the janitorial service the finest. The violence in the school has declined since 2000, due to a good school police squad. Generally, Roxbury Rocks!

great band and academic program... but school violence problems and lack of decent discipline make it a poor atmosphere - considering it has almost no windows.
