Helen I Smith School has very little leadership. This trickles down to the teachers. The best experience I have had to date is 4th grade. Mr. Natale and Mrs. Krantz go over and beyond. It is a shame that for 5th and 6th is not the same. Since we are preparing our children for the future. The math program needs better enhancements. Not enough textbook experience. The 'no child left behind program' is a joke! The school has failed many children with this program and has left the principal to say, 'My hands are tied that is just a great example of seeing children dropping out of school and having no future! Homework and good testing throughout the year in every subject pays off. Dictionary should be used more often!

Sarto has greatly improved the saddle brook high school. about 15 years ago, it was rated 203 out of 304 in the state. it's now rated 140. the re introduction of the sat review course and the college program in senior year are great perks that other schools don't have. synergistics have allowed my son to be introduced to new areas of interest. keep it going sarto.

I used to believe that a student was a product of what their parents taught them and school was simply what you made of it. Since seeing how other schools operate I have learned how off base that thinking is. Saddle Brook schools are sorely lacking in teachers, administration and potential. I am only sorry I did not get my children out of that system sooner.

I cannot believe what I am reading about our school system! As a graduate and mother of 4 children, 2 that have already graduated and 2 that are still enrolled, I feel I must 'be true to my school'. It may not be the best on the planet, but it certainly is not the worst. 1. We do not have so called gang involvement. 2. We have now had the same principal for the past 2 years, and I feel that he is doing a fine job. 3. Our budget has only recently been getting passed due to parents actually taking the time to get out and vote for it. With the budget passing year after year, we can look foward to higher quality curriculem and extracurricular activities.

My daughter attended SBHS and just graduated in June 2006. During the six years she was there (grades 7-12), she went through 3 principals and 2 VP's. Most of the teacher there are very tenured, and therefore unmotivated to change their habits and work on their teaching skills. There is also a very strong gang/fraternity movement there which also interfere with learning. If you plan on moving to NJ, avoid living in Saddle Brook.

The academic programs are not up to par with the other schools. There are a lack of extracurricular activities, but that goes hand in hand with the amount of kids they have in that school. Personally, the school is getting better from what it used to be, although parent involvement should be better.

The school really doesnt help set kids for college and it is a hard transition for most of us just entering college. The principles change frequently and they focus to much on changing the way things work and should focus more on helping the kids grades in the classroom.

My child attended Saddle Brook High School. A fabulous institution. Quality teachers for the most part, concerned, interested etc. Great school!
