Brookside offers a friendly, family-friendly atmosphere. The pre-k and kindergarten programs are solid--with academic emphasis. The kids are outside playing several times, in all kinds of weather, and are exposed to music daily. They put on terrific holiday and spring shows that are unforgettable! One kindergarten teacher is outstanding!! There is little formal opportunity to interact and meet with the teacher, however, and a requested conference was held in the hallway!! Overall, a nice school up to kindergarten, but beyond that, classes are way too small and more often filled with special needs students. John and Lynn run the school with compassion and kindness, but seem to lack up-to-date formal training, as do most of the teachers. The lunch program nutritionally is HORRENDOUS.
