I am a student at this school, Im a freashman, and I have to say that for this being my first year here, I love it. Theres always an activity you can do or a club/ sport you could be apart of to keep your self active. My assistant pricipal is amazing, matter of fact, the whole staff is. The teachers do all they can to help you pass. I think the only thing about this school that is bad is all the drama, but what high school doesnt have its drama. Over all, I love this school.
I personally love cumberland. I'm a senior right now and I can honestl say I've enjoyed every year. I still don't understand how the school has gotten such a bad reputation. I haven't really had a problem with anyone my whole time in regional. In my opinion the best part about going to regional is the variety of people. The whole 'clique' atmosphere isn't really visible. Everyday you will see people coming from all different backgrounds communicating with each other.
As a student at cumberland regional right now, i think there are many problems that could be done but they are trying be fixed. Honestly, i think it is the students that do not cooperate with the teachers and principals. The principals are finding the problems and doing their best at fixing them. All the sports teams are great and i cant say anything bad about them because they work hard after school. There are so many great clubs to be involved with and many teachers that care so much about how you do in school. They do their best to get you through those 4 tough years. Cumberland is a great high school and i wouldnt want to go to any other school.
Having seen my two children go through this school, the only thing I can say is I am glad it's over for them. Arbitrary rules, and arbitrary discipline, very much a school of 'haves and have nots' and a lot of problems get swept under the rug. Bigotry and bias an everyday issue. I will say something positive, this school has a sports boosters club that does many good things for the school and there are many teachers who care about the kids. The math program leaves alot to be desired though, and the guidance office could use more informed staff. In all, just glad my kids are done with it.
Low expectations, poor results, but great esteem builder. Focus is on 'getting through' rather than learning. Poor discipline, arbitrary rule enforcement. A complete disaster..I have never seen a school that does less with so many advantages.
The teachers here at CRHS really do try to get the kids involved. I being a former student remember my U.S. History Honors teacher having us do many great and fun activities that would help us learn about the time period we were studing. Alot of the other teachers try to do the same thing. Sometimes they get student coperation; sometimes they do not. I have seen this first hand. there are also a number of great extracurricular activities avalibe to all sutdents. There are clubs for all intrests, and these clubs involve their members to have fun, in iwhs most cases that is just that. Our Sports program is strong. Our Boy's Soccer, Girl's and Boy's Tennis, Swimming, and Feild Hockey are our most notible sports. Overall CRHS is a great school. Take it from someone who experienced it for 4 years and loved every day of it.
i love Cumberland Regional. The staff is great. there are so many after school programs and sports you can join. the guidence counclers are always there for the students. the principal is very nice. and this is about the only school i actually felt safe being in. i would recommened parent to send their kids here.
Discipline is much too lax. Teachers and administrators are afraid to enforce rules. Guidance office is not of much help. Some teachers and classes are very good; most are mediocre. Sports programs are also mediocre. I wish I had moved so my daughter would have attended a different school.
