Wonderful school, excellent teachers, and a tight-knit community that goes here. They always have fun activities going on to keep the children entertained yet always learning. Most of the community that bring their kids here also grew up in this same neighborhood, bought houses in this same neighborhood and now bring their children to the same school they went to. That says alot about the area and people around it that bring their kids here.

Sewell School is great! I cannot say enough good things about Dr McKee and his staff. My son is in kindergarten and this has been a wonderful experience for him as well as us.

This is the most loving school i've ever seen. This wonderful group of people care about your children as much as you do.

Sewell School is the BEST! Mr. McKee is the BEST principal EVER! He is out rain or shine greeting the kids all by name EVERY morning - not only does he know the children's name but greets the parents as well. Mr. McKee and the staff at Sewell School are the reason that Sewell School has the reputation it has! My daughter is the third generation to attend Sewell School!

I can not say enough about this school. The principal is amazing. He is genuine. My child is so happy here. She never wants to leave! The staff is so warm and welcoming. The best part about it is that my child is learning.

Everyone is very nice and the Principal seems to know all the kids by name. Which shows she takes a great interest in her students. My child is learning so much here.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 New Jersey used the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJ ASK) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in language arts literacy and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in science. The NJ ASK is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New Jersey. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
