Jordan Road Elementary School

I had nothing but wonderful experiences here and learned so much from the excellent teaching programs.

My son started school in Somers point in 4 grade. He struggled at first and got medioker grades. Now he is in 7 grade and for the first time getting honer roll every marking period. The teachers are very caring and offered him extra help un til he found his kniche.

I have 2 kids in this school,4th & k. I am extremely pleased so far. The reading program is fantastic. My daughter started reading beautifully in 3 weeks.She loves to read. My son was extremely bored for the first 1/2 of k.(he went to an extremely academic pre-school), he loves school though.

I am pretty happy with Jordan Rd. I know of some problems, but I have not had many. My child's kindergarten teacher was ok, his first grade teacher is fantastic. I would like for him to continue going to school there.

Both of our children have attended Jordan Road School, my daughter is in her last year there, and has already expressed when she goes to Mainland High School, she is going to miss Jordan Road School, Teachers, Principal/Assistant, aids. The staff has always been very professional and always has an open door policy, for both the children and parents. The Principal/Assistant keep the school, safe, but fun, they get to know their students, and they practice possitive re-enforcement. The teachers are highly knowledgable, and are very friendly. On a personal note, my husband passed away and my daughter was in six grade. When I tell you how wonderful the staff was toward my daughter & our family. They met with the other students of the school, explaining what happened to my husband, and the support was un-speakably incredable. As special thanks to the Guidence office (Miss Ferilo)..
