My children graduated recently and they have done very well. The teachers are dedicated and the principal showed strong leadership. Parents need to get involved to ensure their child's success in school.

Since moving into the town, my children have done well in the school system and that's result of having dedicated teachers, who're willing to work with students especially the struggling ones.

I totally agree with the parent that submitted on 6/14/06 the schools here do hide alot to look good as if nothing goes wrong is Spotswood. And the kids here do think they are supperior to people that move in here from other areas. Not just the schools but the town itself hides alot of things going on here. This town reminds of something from the movie Wickerman. Very Strange!!!!!

SHS is a good, especially if you want your kid to have a 'classic' HS experiance. It's a 'towny' kind of school (everyone goes to football games and a lot of kids are second generation to the school). It's small enough that everyone knows you but not too small. Also, there's a wide range of academic levels. You can certainly just pass along however in Spotswood, there are always a ton of kids that want to 'make it' and will strive for greatness. My graduating class was like this and we pushed and proved ourselves all 4 years to get AP classes and finally got them (the year after we left but at least they're there for the future). HS, like anything else in life, is what you make of it. Spotswood was unique and gave me great memories and a fondation for the future.

Spotswood high School is the Best! i reccomend it highly and I think that the teachers 99.9% are there for the kids.It is a small school and everyone knows everyone, you don't get 'lost' like the larger H.S. I was involved and I feel that if you are there, your child will know that you care. There are honor classes and AP classes. Clubs galore and Sports and Drama! my daughter graduated in 2005 and i miss the kids terribly!

The school is not a bad school, but they like to hide things such as how many teachers are dating students, and how many kids are exempt from the school tests, and the percentages of the students who only stay in high school for 4 years. This school has a lot of classes just so kids pass, even though they are not at a high school levell they can still graduate. They also don't offer as many classes and extra-cirriculars as other schools in New Jersey. Kids who move to this school from urban areas also get singled out, that they are not as good as Spotswood natives.

Spotswood HS is a pretty nice school. The community is fairly supportive (go to a home football game-you'll see what I mean), the teachers are good (someone needs to pay them better, though), and the facilities are pretty nice. The school has great potential and as long as the teachers remember to be optimistic, the students will succeed and the school could win another blue ribbon award.
