Lenape Valley Regional High School

I graduated from Lenape in 2004 and I loved my 4 years there. I loved my teachers and I did very well. I'm considering moving back to the area so that my son will go to Lenape when he is older.

Lenape is 138th in the state - kinda in the middle. They do not provide extended hours for the students for after-schools activities with teacher participation. The Busines Admin took the 3:15 late bus away that was owned by the school becasue someone told him it was not needed. Fortunately he will ask more people the next time who showed up to the BOE and complained that their kids was losing out that last squeeze of 40 mins to try and meet a teacher, counselor, use the library, whatever to still catch a bus home. Lack of after school transportation affects who can or cannot participate in sports if parents can't pickup and take the kids. Other schools in Sussex County provide a 4:15 bus and a 5:15 bus - This is GREEN Friendly enabling the kids to stay and be part of their community.Superintendent is awesome!

I did not like Lenape High School. My experience was very disappointing. I now compare how I feel being free and graduated. I worked all summer in NYC at the Harlem Hospital and able to feel much better about myself and develop some self-confidence. The enviornment inside Lenape is one of fear - of the students who will destroy you the best they can personally, or insure they intimidate someone like myself who has trouble reading but was not in special education. I am great in math. Like teachers who care. Disappear from teachers who bully who I can't please and can't get help from. Now attending college I enjoy the classes that I am good in and want to develop skills in like art, fashion design, and look forward to making friends. It's so easy out of High School! I can't believe it! High School at Lenape 4 Years. Blocking.

Lenape Valley is the greatest! Teachers who can actually joke around with the students with cool things to do. Occasionally fighting...but we learn and no one is too strict.
