It wasn't until I moved away that I realized what a great school George J. Mitchell is. My kids attended in 2008 when Mitchell was the only elementary school. They have 6 specials - gym, music, art, science, library and PEP. Their gifted & talented program is WONDERFUL and stimulating for the kids involved. They have great parental involvement and widely attended PTA functions. They have summer time camps run by teachers. They have a very safe, secure procedure for visitors. Overall, it is a great school and I really miss it!

Both of my children attend this school and have since pre-k. I am so happy with the teachers and staff. I feel that they really care about all the children. They have an awesome preschool program. I feel that my daughter learned an amazing amount of information in her preschool class. My son also loves going to school. He didn't miss a day last year.. They both liik forward to each day at school.. That's why I think George J. Mitchell Elementary scool is a great school.

Constance Fugere is the Principal at this school. She is so supportive of all the students that attend GJM. Our 6 year old has had some difficulties with learning at his grade level. We had many concerns about his moving into 1st grade. She took the time to meet with my husband and I several times. She became actively involved. This enabled our son to be evaluated by the school in record time this summer. He will now receive additional support services in order to help him succeed. He will be moving into 1st grade because of her active involvement with my family but most importantly, my son!

The George J. Mitchell Elementary School located in Little Egg Harbor Township is one of few that offer a free half day pre-school program and full day kindergarten.(Even though the pre-school program is privatly funded through Medallion, it is a benefit to offer students this wonderful start in education.) For students participating in both pre-school and kindergarten it offers a great start in their education. The principal is Pro-active in every aspect of education and professional. She is dedicated and motivated to make sure that all of her colleagues are prepared to have each student perform to his/her best ability. It is believed that learning and laughter are the rule and work together. The school is clean, the teachers are dedicated, qualified and happy to be at school. There is committed PTA,art, music, enrichment programs during the school year and summertime.

GJM School has been the most positive experience I have ever had. My son has made tremendous progress thanks to the Summer Academy, all the teachers he has had and Constance Fugere. He has been in GJM since preschool and is now in 2nd grade and still loves to go to school. Thank you everyone.

my son is in the first grade. He is given homework that a preschooler could do. They are not challenging him at all. I am very disappointed with the curriculum! Most of the homework is either multiple choice, fill in the blank or matching. It never takes him more than 40 seconds to complete. I don't want busy work for him either. I would like however, to see homework that challenges his thinking. For example: writing a 3 - 5 sentence composition or writing complete sentences for spelling words. Math is a joke. Maybe once every other week we will see a ditto on Math. It is definitely a weak curriculum! The school also lacks creative after school programs for the children. They offered two this year for about two month. Unfortunately, their schedules conflict and subsequently your child could only choose one.

My son is currently enrolled in the preschool program. I have to say that this is the best school ever! My son started at age 3 and soon after turned 4, as one of the youngest children in the school, he has made such a big improvement! He loves it, we love it, and I can't say enough about all staff members and the medallion program. Thank You Mrs. Jones for making my son's school experience such a positive one.

My son has been in this school for Pre-k and now 1st grade. We had moved into the town next to LEH , Tuckerton , and went to that school for kindergarten and I hated it. George Mitchel has more students but seems to be able to give more one-on-one to students and parents.

This is a warm, friendly school where my children love to go. They are learning a lot and seem to be right up there with the other schools I've explored. My family is extremely pleased with the G.J.Mitchell School.
