I am a parent whose child will graduate this year from Deron Prep. My son entered this school with receptive and expressive language disorder issues. He wasn't able to efffectively communicate with his peers. During my interview with Ms. Alter, she shared the most profound words that has come to ipotimized my son's life. She said, "here your son will find his voice". His breakthrough manifested itsself while driving home. Everyday I would ask the question, " how was school today?". His regular response was a two or three fragment sentence. This day he said firmly, " I had a great day at school today mom!". I hysterically called the school sharing my experience with the secretary. He has matured into a responsible, caring and hardworking young man who is the co-captain of his basketball team. He will play the role of Maurice, Bell's father, in the play Beauty and the Beast on April 6, 2011. My entire family is indebtted to the professional and compassionate atmosphere that the administration, teachers and support staff have afforded my son. I would highly reccommend this institution to any Special needs parent.
