Waldwick High School is a great school. Sure it's old n the inside and out, but the enviroment is great. It's smaller, which gives students alot more opporunities. Although we do nto ahve many winning teams, our extraurricular activities are wonderful. So many children are part of different sports or groups, and very few are not. This school isalso a very safe enviroment. THe stundents are close with the teachers, and the principal diciplines, but acts like a friend.

My children have been in the Waldwick school system since 1996. Overall, we are happy with the education our kids have received. We have seen the district go through many changes most of which have created a better environment for learning. The Curriculum has improved, and test scores are up, this is a positive. The kids offered a moderate variety of electives, and seem to enjoy most of them. We would like to see AP courses in a foreign language offered to freshman, at this time there are none. Waldwick Schools have been a bit slow on the technology side, but they are beginning to show improvement here as well. A wide range of sports are offered for all ages. A renewed sense of pride has developed with the addition of a great turf stadium & track. A PTSO is in the works, parental involvement is encouraged.

Waldwick High School could be a good and challenging school, however, parent intrusion and micro management from the Board Office do not allow the new principals to make any progress.

WHS has a long way to go before it can be great... But it's on the road there with new principals, a new wing, and a better roof... We'll have to see if it gets better by the end of the construction!
