With the exception of the school being crowded, I have nothing bad to say. They have been nothing but supportive and receptive to all of my childrens' needs. I have gotten really involved and have learned a ton about the staff. I am nothing but pleased!
After reading the most recent post I feel a need to speak out as well. My child also had difficulties with reading. Although he did not require an IEP, I found that when I voiced my concerns to his teacher and administration we worked as a team tohelp him through and with the extra help and guidence his performance is improving every day. I know every child's experience is different but the staff at this school is exceptional and both of my kids absolutely love it there. The main portion of the school is about 50 years old, there was an addition added in 2000. It is the largest elementaryschool in the district and it is comprised of many neighborhoods some people may not like that but I feel my kids have an advantage because they go to school with so many great kids! class sizes are around 20-24.
I used to have children in central school and took them out.My son was having problems reading and there was absolutely no support, communication or help that needed at the time.I found this school, like the other reviews to be overburdened, overcrowded and extremely clicky. My son is now loving his new school that have gone out of their way to get him back on track and doing very well! All he needed was extra help, understanding ,patience and someone who would give him the extra time ,which atCentral was obiusly something they couldn't be bothered with because he didnt have any other issues.I am SO glad I made the decision I did to take him out.A mom got do what a mom got to do!We are advocated for our children.Speak up!!
The teachers are competent and most seem eager to see their students succeed. The school is overcrowded and lacks art & music facilities. The special ed. dept. is also overcrowded and overburdened. There aren't any after school enrichment or recreational activities offered.
I absolutely love this school. My son's very happy here.
Central School is a great place for kids. The administration and staff are very professional. They put the needs of kids first. Your child will not be hindered because of poorly parented students whose parents are requesting patience. This a caring environment that is kid centered and excellent. Your kids will be in great hands.
The classrooms are overcrowded about 24 students, and some of the teachers have no patience. But there is also a good bunch of teachers that are professional, and really care about the kids. The music department is excellent and art.
