Ok I was in the very first class at CHS in Fall 2000, and graduated Spring 2004. While the programs and classes are challenging, there is another factor that is more important than any class - 'the social aspect.' Forunately I wasn't the traditional nerd type so I had friends at other high schools, but over 90% of the kids at CHS are socially challenged, that is, they have little social skills which matter in the real world. They are smart no doubt, but they lack the ability to connect with people on a real and personal level. In college, they will make little friends as this high school experience is vastly different than a traditional high school with traditional kids, traditional programs, and traditional experiences. Don't be mad if your kid goes to college and makes no friends if he went to CHS, because it is mostly the parents decision.

Our child just graduated from CHS. Words cannot describe our admiration for this school, its curriculum, its faculty and administration, and especially its students. We are very picky parents -- if there were any flaws at CHS, we'd say so. There aren't. Academic programs are rigorous and effective. The technology component is integrated effectively into every area of study, in addition to fabulous specialized courses in journalism, tv production, radio, photography and others. Your children will work hard here, but they will be richly rewarded.

This high school presents the type of education you wish all students could have. The staff is enthusiastic, well trained and motivated. They have the complete support of their principal and administration to present education in different formats which not only appeal to the students but excite them. The principal is part of the school, he seems to be everywhere at once and interacts extensively with the students. These are bright, motivated, articulate kids that are going to lead rather than follow.

A dedicated staff, talented students, solid leadership provide an enriched academic atmosphere at CHS. Students who desire to work above and beyond the focused curriculum have a wide variety of opportunities and plenty of support. The program is highly praise worthy. The only draw backs are distances between the students' home towns, and the difficulties with athletic programs at homeschools.

This is an example of the very best in public education. The faculty is young (though very well-qualified), eager and optimistic. The physical facilities are superb, with a television studio, radio studio, print publishing equipment and state-of-the-art computers. The school rates a '4' on extracurriculars only because students return to their home school districts for team sports, music and performing arts -- which is beneficial in a social sense, but can pose some transportation challenges. The parents are very active, involved and supportive. Admission is competitive, but very well worth the effort.
